Chosen solution

Copy all messages belonging to the account to your Local Folders. You can replicate any existing folder hierarchy by manually creating folders underneath Local Folders. Copy messages in batches, not all messages at once. Select messages to be copied, then right-click - Copy To, and choose the destination folder. Once all messages have been copied to your Local Folders you can delete the IMAP account.
