The beta version (38.0.5) works fine for http://cds.dl.ac.uk - but 34.0.1 does not show the top pulldown menu unless display is resized.

Will automatic updates happen from now on for the production version? Have received automatic updates for the Beta version...

I believe that there is an option in the Settings to enable this. Mine does this, so I can only assume that automatic updates get pushed by the Google Play store updates that queue up in the operating system.

There is one I found: Tap the three dot menu > Tap on Settings > Tap on Customize > Tap on Download updates automatically The options are Always, Only over Wifi and Never. Make sure never is not selected at least here.

THe other place in the same Settings menu was: Mozilla > About Firefox there is a button to "Check Updates". There is an update to release every 6 weeks or so, sometimes there are patches.

For the Google Play app settings, this is another setting that might be affecting other apps as well. Tap on the Google Play App > Tap on the three bar button in the top left > Tap on "Settings" > here all of the options for auto-updating apps will be set. (notifications and auto update over wifi)

I hope this helps in the future of updates.
