Starting Thunderbird must wait (Windows rotating cursor/grayed out right hand window) 10 seconds to press Get Messages. Freeze caused by Adblock Plus. Updated.
After that everything is normal. I notized that the folder is named "Home" when the right part is grayed out, and "Inbox-Local Folders" when normal. Where do I change that? I believe I have looked everywhere, but obviously not. Help!

Ok you win. Why are you pressing the button when the program automatically goes off and gets new messages at startup?
Let me explain. I´m using MailWasher to look at the received emails. I´ll mark the emails I don´t want for deletion before I press "Wash mail" and the MailWasher opens Thunderbird. I have set Thunderbird NOT to automatically load the emails. My problem is that Thunderbird started to open "Home" and then I have to wait around 20 second before I can use the program. This is a "feature" I never have seen before, and I am curious about WHY? And, of course, how to get rid of it.
Some users have been reporting a freeze at start-up. It appears that it might be connected with Thunderbird's start-up check to see if it is the default email client. This might be specific to Linux systems, and I haven't been able to reproduce it on my own Linux box, but out of interest it would be useful to know if yours is set to check its integration, and if so, does disabling this option speed things up for you?

I unchecked the start-up check, but I got no change in the behaviour. It takes slightly more than 20 seconds to get the program to run normal. BTW, I´m using Windows 7, 64 bit, with all updates installed.
I tested to "Restart with Add-Ons Disabled...", and now it seems to work. Now I only have to figure out which Add-On that caused the problem. Sometimes I detest Windows...
