Firefox is crashing at startup. I can't open it to try in safemode. I have done a malware and antivirus scan and removed a few potentially unwanted apps, but nothing bad. I have uninstalled and re-installed Firefox, still happening. I am doing a windows update now, but it was not one that was necessary, just an optional one. I've noticed this for the past week or so. Most recent crash: Crash ID: bp-3033efd9-8202-44f5-9710-0c35a2150420

You can update to Firefox 37.0.2 to see if that helps.

If that doesn't help then try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

You need to close and restart Firefox after toggling this setting.

I have the most recent version of Firefox downloaded, it it's still not working. I can't disable anything, or try to open in safe made because it doesn't open at all. It immediately crashes at start-up and the crash reporter opens.

This link you sent helped! https://support.mozilla.org/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration

It turns out I had an optional windows update for a graphics driver. Did the update, restarted, and Firefox opened beautifully. Everything is working :) Thank you!
