'check spelling as you type' has suddenly stopped working. The arrow is still ticked but is a paler colour than the rest of the box.

I've always used the spellcheck when sending emails and I've changed nothing at all. My Options Box still displays the same three things:- Check Spelling/Spell Check As You Type/Quote message. The centre box has always been ticked, inside a blue box and still is. When I click any of the three, nothing happens at all.
