Your system details shows a Yahoo application, not Ask. Is it a choice in the Search Engine Manager?

Go to the search box. At the far left, click the arrow. At the bottom, press Manage Search Engines.

What ever engine is at the top of the list is the default search. You can move the engines around by clicking that engine, and pressing the up or down arrows on the right side of the list. You can also select an engine, and on the right side, press Remove.

If there is a problem with the engines, Bookmark and use this; Download the Mozilla Search Reset {web link} This add-on is very simple: on installation, it backs up and then resets your search preferences and home page to their default values, and then uninstalls itself. This affects the search bar, URL bar searches, and the home page.
