Hello

For the last couple of weeks or so I have a huge problem with Firefox (and Chrome part of the time). IE works just fine!

HTPPS pages rarely load. Sometimes I get an SLL error, but not the same each time. E.g. protocol error, bad record mac, inappropriate fallback, etc But most times simply nothing happens; the tab keeps showing the 'New Tab' as tabs' name and the browser stops attempting to load the page after maybe a second ... deleting the address from the address bar ... After a few reloads some pages (e.g. facebook) loads partly with some images missing or chat disabled.

HTTP pages mostly load, but they take a LONG long time. I do need to reload the pages a few times for them to work. Sometimes I get timeout errors, sometimes nothing happens.

I have already tried every solution I could find in the forums and through Google. Some solutions worked - for a few hours up to a couple of days ... eventually each solution stops working.

I tried: - Removing and re-adding Firefox from the firewall (Microsoft Firewall and ZoneAlarm ... I have both installed, for years, but use the former) - Turning off the firewall - Clear cache and cookies - Update Firefox (I had version 34 ... I updated to 36) - Delete AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles (this actually worked for a couple of days!) - Reset profile - Start a new profile -Start Firefox in safe mode - Start Windows in safe mode - Re-install Firefox - Delete cert8.db - Update system time (seems to help with Chrome) - Looked for viruses (none found) - Looked for malware with malwarebytes and microsoft's tools (found a couple, but none browser related - removing them hasn't helped) - Changed browser.ssl_override_behavior from 2 to 1 (worked for a day) - Loaded page in a different browser (Chrome) first. Weirdly there was a correlation here for a couple of days. I.e. after Chrome managed to load it opening Firefox will work (with any page) for a short while ... - And probably other things I forgot already ...

I kinda ran out of ideas ... and I am stuck with IE as only really working browser ... HELP!!

There is a point that if more than one browser has this issue it might have to do with the connection. However after catching up on the the neighboring thread that seems to be rulled out if the connection eventually works.

If I may ask have you cleared the Operating system cache? Flush dns in a cmd.exe window? This will clear temp files

Correction ipconfig /flushdns Read up on the command before deleting any sensitive cache data.

Flushing the DNS doesn't seem to have affected anything.

The problem "almost" disappeared the last few days ... but then I updated to the newest version and all the problems with FF restarted.

I re-did the firewall config for the new binary, removed cached files, etc ... nothing
