The space bar does not function in the document generator of one app after updating to 36.0. Another user on 35.0.1 has no issues.

This support article has a link and safety advisories regarding old versions of Firefox: Install an older version of Firefox.

But before rolling back, could you test the site in Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode.

You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
  • Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

Not all add-ons are disabled: Flash and other plugins still run

After Firefox shuts down, a small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Reset).

Any difference with the space bar?

No change in safe mode.

It's hard to understand why the space bar would suddenly work differently...

Is this problem with a website or with an added-on application from the marketplace?

You may want to report this problem to the application publisher.

If you don't mind naming names, you could add the name of the application to this thread so it shows up in a search for other users.

The app is EFI E-Pace ver. 27.09 MIS. This is happening on 2 machines (on 36.0) in the quote generator section of the software only. One machine on 35.0.1 is not affected.
