This new updated firefox is awful.. I cannot get websites to open for about 10-15 mins it keeps showing S1 Yimg.com ans s.ytimg, and says shockwave plug in is bad, and all other kinds of crap..

The connection was reset.. I got this msg below and had to reopen this page in another window, and reload it to be able to write on this now... and my network connection is working xlnt, and there is no firewall blocking firefox...

The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.

The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

Try Again

I never had this until I got all these new automatic updates with this new firefox.. I did a system restore, which helped for 1 day, and I have had to reset firefox daily to use it.. And now it took 10 mins to open this page, and then I had to reload this page twice to write this..

I've used firefox for years, and never never had any problems with it. And I see alot of similiar complaints like mine on this forum now..

What suggestions do you have for me NOW... much appreciated, Cyrus

I just got back to my regular mail and now I am getting so many searches showing on the left bottom corner , and some just stay there while the page does nothing.. it stays stuck on a blank page for 10-15 mins, doing all this searching with yahoo, and firefox back and forth, and with this Yimg.com, and others, bing, and transferring names back and forth searching, and doing nothing... this is so crazy !!! I reset Firefox for the 5th time.. and its working okey but: Firefox is still not allowing me to go on a search, or on youtube.. it eventually opens after 10 mins and their is only an audio on youtube,, no picture..

I also have no apps on my taskbat=r any longer for my groups, amazon, ebay, youtube, facebook.. none of them , and I cannot get them from anywhere to show.. All in All this is a bad experience with Firefox...

And otherwise my computer is working fast, and is free of any virus or malware..

I'm still receiving no help from Firefox with this issue.. as of 12/30/14 Cyrus

Note that you have Advanced SystemCare with its Surfing Protection feature that can protect files in the Firefox profile folder against changes.

Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.

I uninstalled all the old flash players and installed the flash player v16.0.0.235 from the Adobe website posted.

And Firefox is still the same. It takes forever to web search, It takes a long time to get on Youtube, and a longer time now to open a video..

It's actual worse since I upgraded to the newer flash player.

I'll do one more fifefox reset (this is the 8th one in a week) and it works for a few hrs, and goes back to the slowww way of working...

Many of my friends I talked to about this, told me to switch over to Chrome like they had to do..

I guess that's the only alternative now..

Thankyou all for your help and suggestions anyway..  :)

Actually Fire fox is working the worst it ever has, following all the suggestions, and re-setting it. I also disabled IOBit to see if it made a difference.. NO it didn't.. I takes 10-15 mins to get the mail to open.. I see at the left bottom all these LOOKING UP: S.yimg.com, AVbeap.bc.yahoo.com, UCS.query.yahoo.com, 9static.com, Social profile ZENSF.com

And so may others, and then it goes back to repeating this list over and over...

I've never in the 15 yrs I've owned computers ever had this happen before !

I don't what happened to going on line, and that is another 15 min process on youtube.. The more suggestions I did, only made it worse..

I would like you to try an experiment. Create a new profile. Then use it. At this time, do not change any settings or load add-ons. Are there problems?

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles Windows: 32-bit C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe -p 64-bit C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe -p Mac: Navigate to /Applications/Utilities. Open the Terminal application. In the Terminal application, enter the following: /Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/firefox-bin -p Linux: In Terminal run: firefox –P For users who have one or more builds from mozilla.org this will not work. It would be best to have the full path so if you had placed the untared contents in a folder in /home it would be /home/<username>/foldername/firefox/firefox –P An easy way would be not to do it in a terminal but in say a launcher since you have to point it to the firefox script in Firefox folder you can then add –P on end. You can also have the exact "profilename" after the -P so Firefox will start with that Profile.

I am curious, why did you remove the system details from your last post? I think it had the answer.

Some added toolbar and anti-virus add-ons are known to cause Firefox issues. Disable All of them.

Mark... you said I removed the system details.. I did not.. if they got removed, I didn't do anything that would have removed them.. interesting.. I'm sure there is a way to re-check and get a new set of current system details. I shut my computer off and restarted it, and it seems a little faster.. I do have IOBit installed on my computer.. and its possible that its blocking some of the web browsing.. I'm ready to clear everything off this computer and start fresh soon.. I had no problem whatsoever until all the updates with firefox about a month ago... And my computer works fast now, except when going on line, and it acts weird with some of the emails.. its slow at times when I open another email browser too.. I'm supposed to be using google as a browser search, but it seems to be always yahoo . It keeps going back to yahoo as the default browser.. And I seem to get the best results when I reset Firefox almost daily... and then it works better (not perfect, but better) Cyrus

Who is Mark?

I'm supposed to be using google as a browser search, but it seems to be always yahoo . It keeps going back to yahoo as the default browser..

Look in your Add-ons Manager, and disable Yahoo anything. Then go into the computers programs folder and remove Yahoo anything.

Windows: C:\Program Files C:\Program Files (x86) Mac: Open the "Applications" folder. Linux: Check your user manual.

I just tried Internet Explorer, and MSN Hotmail, and my email, and searching the web works so fast.. The problem lies with Firefox.. And just now I got this msg when reading emails.. and the computer froze u for 20 mins.. and then I had to close firefox. I just signed in to report this..

I got this msg.. Warning: Unresponsive script Mozilla firefox (not responding) and then a window popped up with 3 choices: Continue - Debug Script - Stop Script

And I have a green spinning circle, and all controls are frozen, I cannot get anything to respond. Then after 20 mins, I see a msg: Windows is checking for a solution for this problem.. after 10 more mins.. I just shut down my computer by holding down the on/off button.

And then re-sign in.. and Firefox is acting weird and slow.. I just reset Firefox last night because it was so slow..

There is something very wrong with Firefox... IE works good.. I don't like it. I'm not getting anywhere with fixing this.. and I don't hear back from any tech support with any solutions.. Firefox worked good until this last month.. and it just doesn't work the same now.. I'll check out Chrome...

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift (Mac Options) > key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?

Start your Computer in safe mode with networking. Then start Firefox. Try Safe web sites.

Now Firefox is saying on any email message as I'm reading it.. reached your first message.. (which isn't true it may be my 10th email msg) and then it takes me off that email and goes back to the top of my inbox list of msgs repeatedly..

Firefox is just not working anymore.. I downloaded Chrome, and it works good. The only solution to correcting Firefox is going to be to delete it from my computer..

Thankyou everyone that tried to help me out with this..  :)

Firefox improved alot after some new updates were installed.. Now pics I get in emails (not the attached file type, but just pic graphics, do not show up anymore.. I get this error message now instead..

The address wasn't understood

cid:007f01cefaae$b91de240$6AF51C37@UserPC

Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because one of the following protocols (cid) isn't associated with any program or is not allowed in this context.

You might need to install other software to open this address.

What is this all about.. yet with my cell phone the pics graphics all show up..

Also I am having trouble when sending an attachment in the mail with Norton virus adware attaching to my outgoing emails, which disables the email from being sent. I do not have Norton installed anywhere on my computer, yet it is attaching itself to emails as spam somehow.

I have McAfee, IoBit and MalwareBytes And none of these 3 are blocking my email with attachments.. I have this Norton attached on the right bottom corner of my email when sending an attachment only.. and this blocks my email being sent.. it comes back as undeliverable and as having an error and is blocking my attachment (any attachment)..

When I right click on this spam Norton icon , and look under properities.. this shows up:

GENERAL: SpecialOffers? VENDORid=YAHOO

Protocol:HYPERTEXT TRANSFER PROTOCOL

TYPE: COM/SpecialOffers File

Address: http://Buy.Norton.com/SpecialOffers?

(url) VENDORID=YAHOO

I would NEVER use Norton ever.. I had it on my old computer.. that was the last time for me... I do not see anything with Norton on my computer, and realize this is spam picked up with Firefox cookies or whatever.. I want this removed !

Any suggestions on either of these two questions, would be greatly appreciated. I prefer Firefox over Chrome, now that it is working so much better...

      Thankyou, Tommy
