A possibility is to use this extension to enable SSL3 temporarily only for a website that needs SSL3.

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache.

  • Clear the Cache and
  • Remove Cookies
    Warning ! ! This will log you out of sites you're logged in to.

Type about:preferences<Enter> in the address bar.

  • Cookies; Select Privacy. Under History, select Firefox will Use Custom Settings. Press the button on the right side called Show Cookies. Use the search bar to look for the site. Note; There may be more than one entry. Remove All of them.
  • Cache; Select Advanced > Network. Across from Cached Web Content, Press Clear Now.

If there is still a problem, Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} While you are in safe mode;

Type about:preferences#advanced<Enter> in the address bar.

Under Advanced, Select General. Look for and turn off Use Hardware Acceleration.

Poke around safe web sites. Are there any problems?

Then restart.

I have tried the above solution but it didn't work. I still have the same error, now on two different computers, since I have updated Firefox. I have attached a pic where you can notice the link where I'm suppose to click on, is in a different area. from Firefox to Chrome

hello regba123, ssl3.0 encrypted connections can be no longer considered secure since an attack vector against them ("POODLE") has become known. please contact the webmaster in charge of your school's site and urge them to update the encryption to something contemporary. https://blog.mozilla.org/security/2014/10/14/the-poodle-attack-and-the-end-of-ssl-3-0/

if you want to re-enable ssl 3.0 in firefox you can do that - however keep the consequences in mind, that you will become vulnerable to the attack mentioned above: enter about:config into the firefox address bar (confirm the info message in case it shows up) & search for the preference named security.tls.version.min. double-click it, change its value to 0 and restart the browser.

You should however not keep this preference set at zero as otherwise you may think you are safe on secure site even when any sites still using the old vulnerable SSL 3.0 is in use.
