open new tab redirect goes to the correct new tab at first, but then malware redirects to two or three redirects and finally to an ask.com page.

I'm not new to firefox - I can do some stuff in the about:config - I know its not in the browser newtab url because that opens just fine, its shortly after that it starts to redirect. I didn't see any strange urls in there either. Please help, thanks
