Firefox crashes

Firefox keeps crashing seconds after opening it, regardless of whether I have accessed anything or not. I have binned the current version and re-loaded it three times. I have also re-opend it in "safe mode." The immediate trigger for the repeated crashing seemed to be when I took the option to reset firefox to default factory settings (I was given this option at the bottom of the firefox page to make firefox go faster). It has not worked since.

All help appreciated because I love firefox (other browsers still seem to be working).

James.

hello james, do the crashes stop when you update to firefox 34 (in beta state at the moment)?: https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/beta/ firefox 34 contains a fix for a rather widespread crash on os x systems which are triggered by the presence of an outdated facebook plugin...
