Hi,

I installed firefox os on my nexus 4 and am running mako 2.2.0.0-prerelease. The os is very fluid and easy to use except that I have no way to execute the search or go to the address I enter in the search / URL field. There is no arrow to the right of the search field and hitting the search key on the keyboard, (no enter key is presented), simply makes the keyboard disappear leaving me a dark, greyed out screen with the search field and close button visible at the top.

Thanks for any help.

Nick

You flashed Firefox OS?

Yes, via TWRP and Multirom. I am dual booting FF and Cyanogenmod. As previously mentioned, FF loads and runs fine, radio works, phone works, but I can't execute a search.

Hi nikkkko,

I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues with the Firefox OS system you flashed onto your Nexus 4.

Unfortunately, this is not an official hardware, and v2.2 is still very much under development and unstable, so there is not much we can do to assist you.

I would suggest trying version 2.0, which should be a bit more stable, but understanding that the Nexus 4 hardware is still not an official Firefox OS device, so our developers may not be able to investigate the issues you encounter.

I hope you find this information useful. Please let us know if you have any question about the usage of the Firefox OS system.

Thanks,

- Ralph

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I'll try version 2.0

For what it's worth, I would have left FF as my daily driver, (I was able to bookmark google.com thereby circumventing the no search problem), however, I can't live without my contacts so I can't live without carddav. (Caldav worked ok).

But that's another post.

Just thought I would update...

I created a new firefox account and accepted geolocation and now search works fine. Don't know which of the two changes unlocked the functionality.

If only there were carddav...
