Hi,

I would like to know when the releases v.1.4, v.2.0 of Firefox OS will be available. In fact, according to the roadmap of Firefox OS https://wiki.mozilla.org/B2G/Roadmap, the version v.1.4 should be already released on last June 2014 and the version v.2.0 on September 2014 https://wiki.mozilla.org/Release_Management/B2G_Landing. The last available release of Firefox OS v.1.3 is https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/os/notes/1.3/ which is dated March 2014. Is Mozilla experimenting problems with Firefox OS? I'm an Android user that wants to migrate to Firefox OS, but it will be not possible until a decent development of the OS. I think that Firefox OS has great potential especially in term of freedom, privacy, openness and system requirements. Thank you

Hi erotavlas,

Mozilla continues to develop and work on new updates for the Firefox OS mobile system. Those links that you shared are all accurate - I also use these pages to stay informed regarding the latest updates.

What you may be referring to, is that the latest "Commercial" release of a Firefox OS device is 1.3.

The newer versions are already available for testing and debugging, and may be flashed onto rooted devices for users wanting to experiment or assist Mozilla in the development process.

Once a version has reached the "Code Complete" stage at Mozilla, they are sent off to hardware-partners and manufacturers for testing and certification. This process can take many months until is finished, and until the finished version is available on commercial devices.

Perhaps the best device to install developmental versions of Firefox OS is the Flame Reference device. I am currently running versions v2.0, v2.1, and v2.2 on different devices.

Although - please keep in mind that these newer versions are only recommended for developers and experienced users.

I hope you find this information useful. Please let us know if you have any other questions or comments about Firefox OS!

Thanks,

- Ralph

Hi Ralph,

Just found your answer above (again) which is now five month old. Is it still the same? Is 1.3 the latest "commercial" release? When might 1.4 / 2.0 / 2.2 etc. climb up this letter you reckon? Source: https://wiki.mozilla.org/Main_Page

Thanks, Albert

Thanks erotavalas. I think I actually have seen this page already. Just wondering why this isn't reflected on https://wiki.mozilla.org/Main_Page and https://wiki.mozilla.org/Releases e.g. "Firefox OS 1.4 Released on ??"

I do not know why. I'm looking for next stable commercial release v2.2 or v3.0...
