Messages can no longer filter to folder "Deletions"
Am getting a message which says "message could not be filtered to folder "deletions" because writing to folder failed. Verify you have enough disk space and that you have write privileges"
I'm a long-term user of Thunderbird and haven't consciously changed any settings. I've cleared the deletions directory. Should I try packing Thunderbird (which I don't know how to do)? I don't see why it should be anything to do with write privileges.
Help would be appreciated.

try: Make sure you have emptied and compacted the 'Deletetd' folder. right click on 'Deleted' folder and select 'Empty Deleted'. then right click on 'Deleted' folder and select 'Compact'.
