You are being asked to update because the version of Firefox you are running is very out of date (It is version 21, the most recent version is 32). Old versions leave you at risk for security holes, (https://www.mozilla.org/security/known-vulnerabilities/firefox.html) plus you have to deal with performance issues and bugs in old versions. Please update to 32 ASAP. Update Firefox to the latest release

A prompt to update to the current Release does not have anything to do with spying.

Also please do not use such language as you can still get your point across without it.

Try Seamonkey..still a Mozilla product, not so fucked up,even (though my problem now is importing bookmarks to Seamonkey)..I would try Mozilla browser..I actually used it before FireFox.. remember when it was call firebird?

There are work arounds to get around the ego's that are now becoming more like microsoft..P.S. I will not upgrade from XP..but the Linux distros are becoming more PC friendly..just a matter of time.
