Up until version 31 firefox has been my mate, by my god what have the developers done.

Online banking functions do not work, check boxes go missing. Webmail compose options on multiple mail providers does not work. Posting on online motoring sites doesnt work, form fields missing. Using another domain management platform, half the functionality doesnt work.

All of the above work with Chrome...

Make sure that you haven't enabled a High Contrast theme in the Windows/Mac Accessibility settings.

Make sure that you allow pages to choose their own colors.

  • Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Colors : [X] "Allow pages to choose their own colors, instead of my selections above"

Note that these settings affect background images.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

None of these issues existed prior to version 31.

I've checked all the suggestions you have made and the settings are as you have suggested.

The issues described here are relating to version 31. If you cant fix them then its time to move to Chrome as I cant go on like this with a buggy browser.

Can you attach a screenshot?

  • Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot
  • Make sure that you do not exceed the maximum size of 1 MB

Is this only happening on web pages that use a secure HTTPS connection or with a normal HTTP connection as well?

Hi Cor-el

I have tried clearing cache, tried using without hardware acceleration and without any themes / skins and still the issues persist.

Did you try Firefox safe mode and did you try to disable all extensions?

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problem.

See "Creating a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.
