ZTE Open C applies updates without user notification?

more options

This morning I discovered huge amount of traffic consumed by FF OS (leading to about 300 euro loss). Update history shows that the phone updated itself this night, and 3G was turned on.

WTF? I thought after checking for updates the phone should notify the user first, so that they can turn Wi-FI on. Is this not the case?

Hi Artem Tarasov, Thank you for your question, the updates are provided by the Manufacture/carrier. In the software update app, there is only an option to select the frequency. Are there options in your Cellular and Data settings for this option?

Please also contact your service provider about updates.

Well, we've negotiated with the provider, and the costs are not that large after that. But still, I'd prefer to have an option to wait for Wi-FI in order to download updates. For example, Here Maps notifies the user that it's better to connect to a wireless network when storing pieces of maps on the device for offline use.
