I keep resetting Firefox (latest version) to open at a blank page, but it continues to open at the default Home Page. That home page has an unwanted Firefox logo in the middle, with a search bar underneath. I don't want to see any of that when I open Firefox, but can't seem to get rid of it. There is nothing in Extensions or Plug-Ins that could cause this.

Note that there is software like Advanced SystemCare with its Surfing Protection feature that can protect files in the Firefox profile folder against changes. If you have such software then check the settings or uninstall this software.

I checked ASC, and found that it had automatically set itself to do exactly that. I disabled that tool feature, and my problem has now been solved. I ran through both a couple of restarts as well as a couple of cold boots, and I now continue to get the blank screen I have been chasing.

Thank you cor-el; my hat is off to you.
