This article is currently linking from Developer Edition, but it won't be in Beta for another couple of months. Right now, it looks similar to the Tracking Protection article, but Private Browsing version of Tracking Protection is likely to evolve. We still need the older article for now, but we'll reassess around November.

I think needs a {for fx42} because the article is visible and in previous than 42 ff, "Private Browsing Mode should enable Tracking Protection by default" is only from 42 and above.

    thank you

I added Template:fxdesktopbeta to the top of the article {for not fx42} (it's pending review).

There's a "Needs change" entry that I'm thinking Joni added but I don't know what it means:

[Oct 12] - check with Javaun re: changes

It is the correct decision at this time. Done. :-)

Template:fxdesktopbeta should be removed when Firefox 42 is released. We can replace it with this one, for not fx42: /kb/templateupdate-fx-desktop Template:update fx desktop

I added this "Needs change" entry to the article Description: [Nov 3, 2015] Remove "Template:fxdesktopbeta" when Fx42 is released and replace it with "Template:update fx desktop" for not fx42

I'll also create a new discussion thread for the change that will be needed as of Nov 3, when Fx 42 is released.

Hi, in the note in the end of the article, paste the note :

You can also turn off Tracking Protection by going to the Private Browsing home page (about:privatebrowsing) and clicking the link that says Turn Tracking Protection Off. You may turn Tracking Protection back on via the same link.

if you write about:privatebrowsing in the address bar then first open the next page :

first note for about private browsing fx 42

and then, after you click the "Open a private Window" you can click the "Turn Tracking Protection Off".

is it important to add this in the article, or it is too much ?

EDIT : in 42 of course

    thanks

Hi, I think that the note might need to make it clearer that the link to turn Tracking Protection on or off appears in a Private Window ... for example,

    {note}If you're in a Private Browsing window and you want to turn off Tracking Protection, go to the Private Browsing home page (type about:privatebrowsing in the address bar) and then click the link that says Turn Tracking Protection Off. If Tracking Protection is already turned off and you want to turn it back on, click the link that says Turn Tracking Protection On .{/note}

Would you want to make an edit to change the note or wait to see what others think?

I made a new revision to the article, that included adding the screenshot Image:Fx42PrivateBrowsingHomePage under the TOC and editing the note. I left it pending review.

P.S. I made a second revision to move the screenshot inside the note.

+1, maybe is it correct to wait 2 more days till Firefox 42 is released, to remove the Template:fxdesktopbeta and approved all the changes at once ?

    thanks

Yes, lets wait until after Firefox 42 is released, so we can change the template at the same time.
