See today's pending revision 101834 with the comment, added the "The reset message" section.

This revision would add a new section explaining the message that appears if the profile hasn't been used in awhile, offering to reset Firefox. It also tells users how to disable this prompt as follows:

To disable this message, visit about:config and add a boolean preference with name browser.disableResetPrompt and value false.

The new section refers to bug 955950 for the background on this preference .

Looks like the reset prompt has existed since Firefox 25 according to this bug: Bug 498181 - Offer to reset a user's profile if it's gone unused for months ... which includes a screencast of the feature in action.

Should the reset message be documented? Maybe so, but I'm on the fence about explaining how to disable it. I'll let others decide.

P.S. I haven't tested adding this new preference but it doesn't make sense to create the preference browser.disableResetPrompt and set the value to false. bug 955950 c40 indicates the preference should be set to "true".

In any case, if we document how to turn this off we should probably refer to the new article, Configuration Editor for Firefox which goes into detail on creating new preferences.

Bug 955950 comment 43 also indicates that the preference should be set to "true" to turn off the notification bar prompt to reset Firefox.

I'm deferring the pending edit based on the above.
