Starting in Firefox 32 when you reset Firefox, there's an additional Import Wizard step. I tested this in Firefox 32 Beta on Windows 7 and here's a screenshot: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/gallery/image/18491 Fx32Reset-ImportWiz When I tested the reset feature in Firefox 31, the Import Wizard does NOT appear*. Related bug:

Unless this bug is fixed before Firefox 32 is released and the new "Import Wizard step is eliminated, we should probably definitely mention it in this article. (The correct action is to keep the default Import Wizard option, to import data from Firefox.)

Note: This article is currently redirecting to a "Test" article. I'm not sure which article will need to be edited, this one or the test article it redirects to. [*] However, with a Firefox 31 reset you I see a "Well, this is embarrassing ...." window shown here (a bug? ) that you I don't see in Firefox 32 Beta.

P.S. The following is copied from this "Investigation" bug:

    • Bug 1032958 - Investigation: Reset Migration wizard no longer skips the first step to choose a browser

    Created attachment 8448886 [details]
    import-dialog.png

In Firefox 32 we added a screen where the user can choose what to import (data from another browser, data from Firefox, or nothing/cancel). In previous versions, we don't provide this choice and just automatically import the Firefox data because that's how the feature was designed.

This new option causes a couple of problems:
    1. This screen requires action on the user's part.
    2. This screen has multiple (4-6) options with only 1 right choice (Firefox - the default). This invites the possibility of the user breaking the reset process and ending up with a blank profile which is explicitly not the purpose of the reset feature.

Video example of the difference: http://people.mozilla.org/~mverdi/video/reset-change.webm

We should remove this screen from the reset flow.

For the record, here's the bug:

    Thanks, Alice.

I've added the import step in the template for this article. I'll check 32 again when it gets closer to release and remove the step if applicable.

I didn't realize that the edit needed was in Template:resetsteps , not this article. Thanks, Joni.

I made an edit to the template to change {for fx29} to {for =fx29,=fx30,=fx31} since you had both {for fx 29} and {for fx32} sections, which caused a duplication.
