bold textRecovering important data from an old profile" article. The article repeats itself but never tells you where to GET "Refresh Firefox" !

Is it an add on ? Is it something easy to download that has instructions in PLAIN ENGLISH ! Tired of geek talk. I'm getting ready to retire this desktop computer and want to save a lot of things except political rants and some places I wish I hadn't gone to. A lot of baggage after 14 years.

Can you go into your profile and understand it enough to edit it. Probably not. That would be too easy. Oh don't make it too easy (especially for seniors) .... keep em confused. Hey, I used to run and make some programs in GW Basic (the mozilla KIDS are saying - What's that ?) in any case I have no desire to go back.

Make believe this is a phone call ..... where do I ? Okay Okay but how do you make it work. No I still don't understand ........ NO, I don't want to talk to Alice

See what a goofy setup you have. I can't even go back and edit my own post

    Hi ComputerPain,
I think you may have mistaken this forum as a place to get help using Firefox. It is not. This forum is for discussion about contributing to the Recovering important data from an old profile article.

If you have a problem with Firefox that you need help with, the best place to ask is in the support forum at http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/new

I'll try answer your question now, and if you need further help, ask in the support forum:
If you need to back up your Firefox data, check out the instructions in the following article: Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles

Remember to ask in the support forum. It's got a very high answer rate!

The second paragraph of the article says this:

If you are having a problem with Firefox then sometimes, rather than trying to find and fix the exact cause of the problem, it is easier just to make a new Firefox profile and copy your most important data over to it. The Refresh Firefox feature will do this for you automatically.

"The Refresh Firefox feature" portion of the bold text goes to the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article. In case that wasn't clear, I have a revision pending to change it to the following:

I'll let Chris Ilias or another reviewer decide whether the revision is needed.
