Request for marking latest edit as RFL

Is there any special reason why the latest edits won't get a RFL? Current local instructions still talk about vertical toolbar, which does no longer show up. Of course I could simply adjust our locale, but the RFL mark would push all locales to update the article (unless I missed out on some reason why it should be held back).

The last edit by Chris Ilias was approved as a minor revision so it can't be marked RFL. The previous two approved revisions before that were also not marked RFL.

If you want the latest revision to be marked RFL you can make an empty edit with a comment such as, "Empty edit. Please mark RFL" or "Resubmitting last revision to mark RFL".

Hi Alice, thanks for your prompt reply.

Although generally I am quite reluctant to mark edits RFL, in this case I think edits which include changes like {for tb38} and {for not tb38} plus according text alterations are changes which should be RFL: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/open-search/compare?locale=en-US&to=124162&from=123964

Since I learned that OpenSearch is an official name (see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opensearch and http://www.opensearch.org/Community/OpenSearch_search_clients) and should be spelled as one word only, I can use this as a base for a new edit and leave the approve/reject and RFL decision up to the specialists.

I don't normally review revisions to Thunderbird articles (I would rather leave that to the experts). That being said, if "OpenSearch" is one word then the article title would need to be changed. So would the title for the article Add Search Engine to Open Search, which links here.

I was aware of the title being different to my edit. But frankly, I expect my edit to be rejected anyway, that's why I did not bother to change the title, too.

The main reason for my edit was to give an easy opportunity to mark it RFL (the other possibility would have been to make an empty edit). My personal opinion (for what it's worth) is, that if there is an official name for something or for a company name, it should be used. But I dont want to appear holier-than-thou, that's why I said I leave everything up to the specialists.

To shorten the whole thing and bring it to an end (I had no intention of blowing it out of proportion) I will simply edit/update my locale version of this article, regardless of en-us getting marked RFL or not.

    Thanks for your patience.

Your revision is pending review with a "see discussion" comment. Let's see what happens.

I didn't mark it as RFL because of the proposed changes at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/open-search/discuss/6637

I was hoping there would be a community that would reply to that thread.

I'll just start implementing those changes.
