    I updated the article for Firefox 55 since Flash is now Ask to Activate by default. I also added a new section, "Flash plugin not working on certain websites" with a link to the new article The Flash plugin is blocked on some sites by default. Related bug: Bug 1370350 - Write article about Flash blocklists and Click-to-Play by default

    Alice: in revision 142574, you added

    {for not fx55}{menu Always Activate} or {/for}{menu Ask to Activate}

    This implies it is not (or no longer) possible to select "Always activate" in 55+, but I still can, at least in Nightly 57, similar to 54 - I didn’t check in 55 or 56. Are you sure this is OK?

    If you want, you can change the "Flash plugin not working" section to say something like this, which is what I was thinking to do myself:

    If Flash is disabled, select either {menu Ask to Activate} or {menu Always Activate} in its drop-down menu.

    I then decided to make it Ask to Activate for fx55 since that's the default. Also, the linked Why do I have to click to activate plugins? article says this, at the bottom for fx55: {note}Always activate plugin (not recommended): You can also set plugins to always activate by going to about:addons and setting the plugin to Always activate. The plugin will automatically run and you won't get the "Click to activate" message.{/note} {/for}
