The instructions under the "Playing Flash videos makes Firefox hang" section say:

    • Disable HW acceleration in Flash:
      1. Go to this Flash help page on adobe.com.
      2. {for win,linux}Right-click on the box that lists your Flash player version and then click {menu Settings…} in the context menu.{/for}{for mac}Hold down the {key Ctrl} key while you click on the box that lists your Flash player version and then click {menu Settings…} in the context menu.{/for} The Adobe Flash Player Settings screen will open.

That Flash help page no longer has a box that lists your Flash player version. The "Check now" box, when clicked, only shows me (on Win7) Congratulations, your computer has the latest Flash Player installed.. Right-clicking that box, the "Settings" item is greyed-out (only the "Global Settings" item is clickable but that doesn't include the needed option).

The box with the "Settings" option that needs to be clicked is the one with the Flash animation, at the bottom of the page.

I made a revision to change the instructions for that page. An alternate page that might be better is http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues which is the Adobe help page listed in http://kb.mozillazine.org/Flash#Performance_or_display_issues_with_certain_Flash_videos
