If you are sending messages in multiple languages, you can install additional language dictionaries. After installing a dictionary, it is easy to switch from one language to another.

How to install a new language dictionary?
- In the Menu bar at the top of the screen, click and then select or , depending on your macOS version.Click the menu button and select . .
- Select the
panel and the tab. - Click on .
- In the opened tab, scroll through the alphabetic list of dictionaries to find the one you want.
- Click on next to the language of your choice.
- In the opened page of the selected dictionary, click on .
- Restart Thunderbird.
You can also install a new dictionary directly in the composition windows:
- In the Composition window, right click on a word.
- From the context menu, select , then and follow the steps described in the above section.
How to set the dictionary?

- Select the panel and the tab.
- From the drop-down list, select the language for the dictionary.
- Click .
How to switch the dictionary between different languages?
- In the Composition window, right click on a word.
- From the context menu, choose and select the language you want for spell checking.
