I can't reproduce the part where this image is suppose to show : https://support.cdn.mozilla.net/media/uploads/gallery/images/2014-08-06-17-03-49-8f2a7c.png

This test files here does not give me the message : http://www.eicar.org/85-0-Download.html

Have the function been removed ?

I would like to localize the image if possible.

You may be able to find out more by asking in /forums/contributors but it looks like the function that checks downloaded files for malware on Windows may be temporarily disabled. Here's what I found with a bugzilla site search:

    • Bug 1055670 - disable remote application reputation checks (fixed in Firefox 34).

See also the open Bug 1090754 - re-enable remote lookups for application reputation and the bugs it blocks and depends on.

More info: It's only disabled for "remote lookups" which, from what I've gathered, is about half of blocked files: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1068656#c3

Is there anyone who can take this bug? This is blocking turning on remote lookups for application reputation, which accounts for approximately half of malware classifications.

More information here, under Local lookups (present in FF 31) and Remote lookup (present in FF 32, Windows-only): https://wiki.mozilla.org/Security/Features/Application_Reputation_Design_Doc

A better test URL to use if you want to see the download protection UI is http://testsafebrowsing.appspot.com
