Is there a more modern version of this article?

I don't normally edit or review Sync articles since I don't use that feature but maybe this is what you're looking for? Sync your Firefox bookmarks, history, passwords and more

EDIT: Never mind. Sync your Firefox bookmarks, history, passwords and more is already linked from this article.

I found it and other sync articles linked from https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/products/firefox/sync-your-browsers

What part this article needs to be updated, by the way? I started to follow the directions and they seemed OK to me, except that I already had a Firefox Account for Pocket and the article didn't mention that.

I mader a bunch of screenshots of the current process on Firefox 38.0.5 Windows 7 but the Media Gallery is too slow loading right now ... maybe later I'll upload them.

We seem to be going for multiple short articles these days. There are amongst others

    N.B.

I tend not to use sync myself, it can be unreliable and does not allow directional syncing.

P.S. We have been able to get sync|weave logs for a while using about:sync-logs

    1. Is this new or more likely I just have not noticed it previously ?
      • about:sync-tabs
    2. I note about:sync-progress from a new profile with Sync not setup, and having no sync logs displays
      Setup Complete
      Firefox logo
Your data is now being encrypted and uploaded in the background. You can close this tab and continue using Firefox.

Good morning, I saw that in the last update there is a reference to the Reading List with Firefox 38.

Now, this Reading List is not present in the Italian version (before or after version 38 - I'm currently using version 40 Beta).

The July 16 revision to this article added "Reading List" to the list of synced items for fx38 in the beginning of this article: Firefox Sync lets you share your data and preferences (such as your bookmarks, history, passwords, open tabs, Reading List and installed add-ons) across all your devices.

Like I said, I don't use Sync feature and the screenshot I posted earlier for Fx38.0.5 doesn't list a separate item for Reading List:

    Fx38Sync5

Maybe upwinxp or HBloomer (who approved the revision) can explain ?

I've added this article to the Need Changes list and mentioned this thread.

Maybe could be this referred to Firefox for Android (i.e. you can sync Reading List between two Android devices)?

In this case, we should have something like

(such as your bookmarks, history, passwords, open tabs{for m38}, Reading List{/for} and installed add-ons)

I sent a PM to Heather with a link to this thread.

Alice is correct you cannot sync your reading list as far as I am aware on the desktop version of Firefox. I will remove it from the article unless someone else knows of a way of doing so.

    1. I just re-installed my former edits (which were altered by bolaram by mistake, I checked with him already). These are text changes only and were discussed before with Noah before submitting.

    2. Since Heather did not remove the Reading List for desktop yet (see Heather's post above) it is still included in the article for desktop. I didn't want to remove it in case there are any news.

    3. I've been told the screenshots shown in the article are not up-to-date (dated before Firefox Accounts). Since I don't have access to Android and don't use Sync I cannot provide new screenshots. Maybe someone would like to help out.

    4. After new screenshots are available we might need to alter the article text accordingly (menu, buttons, links).
