The add images allows files to be attached including animated images. There are also methods of including media in posts. After a discussion in the (private) Moderation Forum

I think changing the wording of the guidelines from "Images" to "Media" is a good idea. Chris, Ed, would one of you like to do that?

In fact I amended it to still include one instance of the word image.

I made a new edit to change "Media" to "Images and other media" since both the AAQ and support forum UI say Add Images: under the text box.

P.S. What other media besides images can be included on the support forum? Animated GIFs are image files. John, you wrote, There are also methods of including media in posts.. Did you mean using HTML to include videos, for example? I deferred my pending edit for now.

(To answer my own question) you can insert a YouTube video into this forum so I suppose [*] you can do the same in a support forum thread: [[Video:https://youtu.be/Pjzxg_myDj8]]

    [*] Yes, you can: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1041883#answer-841168

    I'll resubmit my edit.

    Hi Alice

I did make sure the word Image was retained. I even thought about making the heading Images and other media, but I thought Madalina's instruction was fairly specific so I stuck to that.

The Mods discussion did not specifically mention inserting Video etc but I was aware video could be uploaded. Also I guess Video or animated Gif's could be linked and so effectively inserted, it has been done before usually with screenshots. This is a video like animated gif inserted with HTML src link tags

    fox-snow

Your test shows videos may be inserted in AAQ.

I will approve your edit. I do not foresee Madalina disagreeing with the revision.

Note the icon in other Sumo Fora is "Insert Media ..." as with the mountains icon above in this forum

    Hi, John99.

I was late posting a comment in the Moderation thread. Madalina didn't reply.

I made some edits to your revision and approved my changes. I think it's best to change the section from "Images" to "Images and other media" (instead of to "Media") since the support forum UI says Add Images: under the text box and doesn't use an "Insert Media" tool for adding images (only the contributor forums do). When you click on the Insert Media tool in contributor forums and in this forum, it takes you to Show: Images in the Media Gallery . The Media Gallery used to include both Images and Videos but Videos was removed awhile ago [*] . The Adding screencasts article was also archived but I'm not sure if that was related to removal of Video uploading or not. [*] Bug 894947 - Remove UI for uploading videos (and related code)
