Firefox Hello will ask to use your camera or microphone at the beginning of each call, unless you've set your permissions to automatically block or allow access. Follow these steps to change these permissions settings.

Change permissions settings for Firefox Hello

  1. Click on the site identity icon (the lock symbol) in the address bar.
  2. Choose Allow on each menu next to Use the Camera and Use the Microphone:

  3. Click anywhere on the web page to close the menu, then click the Retry button.
Context menu: You can also right-clickcontrol + click on the page to bring up the Page Info window. Click the Permissions tab and choose Allow next to Use the Camera and Use the Microphone.

Manage default permissions settings for Firefox Hello

Use this method if you'd like to set default permissions settings for Firefox Hello, or if you're unable to follow the method above.

  1. Type about:permissions into your address bar.

  2. Choose hello.firefox.com from the list of sites on the left.

  3. On the right, find Use your camera and Use your microphone, then choose Allow or Always Ask next to each one. (Note: Choose Always Ask if you'd like Firefox Hello to ask you for device access each time you start a call.)

Flashblock users: Flashblock might block video images on Firefox Hello. If you're not seeing any video even after Firefox Hello has activated your camera, try disabling the Flashblock add-on.
