The developer option "Don't keep activities" in Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) will cause Firefox for Android to fail to load websites properly. Keeping this Android system setting enabled is not recommended, as it may result in undesirable behaviour of Firefox and other Android applications. This article explains how to disable it.

  1. To disable this setting in Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), visit the Android settings (Settings), scroll down and select and tap on Developer options.
The Android Developer Options settings menu should appear.
  2. Scroll down the listing of settings and uncheck the checkbox for Don't keep activities.
The item Don't keep activities should be unchecked.
  3. Shut down Firefox for Android if it is running by returning to Firefox, tapping the menu on the upper right hand side and selecting Quit.
Firefox should be closed. You can then relaunch Firefox and Firefox should behave normally.
