Cookies are stored on your computer by websites you visit and contain information such as site preferences or login status. This article describes how to delete cookies and site data in Firefox.

Delete cookies for a single site

To delete cookies for one website:

1. In the Menu bar at the top of the screen, click Firefox and then select Preferences or Settings, depending on your macOS version.Click the menu button and select Settings.
2. Select the Privacy & Security panel and go to the Cookies and Site Data section.

   

3. Click the Manage Data… button. The Manage Cookies and Site Data dialog will appear.
4. In the Search websites field, type the name of the site whose cookies you want to remove. Items that match your search will be displayed.

   

   • To remove all cookies and storage data for the website, click Remove All Shown.
   • To remove selected items, select an entry and click Remove Selected.
5. Click Save Changes.
6. In the Removing Cookies and Site Data confirmation dialog that opens, click RemoveOK.
7. Close the about:preferences page.

Note: You can remove individual website cookies in Firefox version 60 and below, using the Page Info window Security tab View Cookies button. You can also use the Storage Inspector to remove individual cookies for a specific website, via the right-click context menu. To open the Storage Inspector, go to the menu button Web Developer submenu or press Shift + F9 on the keyboard.

Delete all cookies

To delete all cookies stored on your computer, either go to your Cookies and Site Data settings as explained above, click Clear Data… and then click Clear to remove all cookies and site data or else do the following:

1. Click the menu button and click Library (or click the Library button in the toolbar).
2. Click History and then click Clear Recent History….
3. Set Time range to clear to Everything.
4. Click on the arrow next to Details to expand the list of history items.
5. Select Cookies and make sure that other items you want to keep are not selected.

   

6. Click Clear Now to clear the cookies and close the Clear Recent History window.
