I removed the "Disable virus scanning in Firefox preferences" and "Bypass Windows Security Policy check" sections as of Firefox 31 (needs review/approval).

The preference browser.download.manager.scanWhenDone is no longer available in Firefox 31. Not sure when the preference was removed (I can't find a bug report) but it's still there in Firefox 24 ESR. If it matters, it's also still there in SeaMonkey 2.26.1 which is based on Firefox 29.

Whether or not the "Disable virus scanning in Firefox preferences" section should be kept, but modified to change the instructions to replace browser.safebrowsing.appRepURL in about:config with an empty string is open to discussion.

According to the 4th entry under "what's new" of the release notes ,there is a new feature, which will scan and block downloads, too:

before, only URLs got scanned and blocked. Now it seems like the downloads themselves can be blocked, too.

To turn off the new feature, but keep the old one for URLs only:

Replace browser.safebrowsing.appRepURL in about:config with an empty string. This disables application reputation checks but leaves other Safebrowsing malware protection intact.

Since no one has commented I'll self-approve.
