    Hi All, more and more search engines are .xpi WebExtensions instead of .xml files. Unfortunately, the Remove button on the Options page doesn't uninstall the corresponding extension (as of 68.0b12, didn't check Nightly), so the search engine reappears at the next Firefox startup.

    You can test with: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/yahoo-search-addon/

    I added this note to the end of the article, which is pending review:

    {note}Note: Some search engines may be re-installed at the next startup after being removed using the above instructions, if they are installed as extensions. Those must be removed using the Add-ons manager (see Disable or remove Add-ons for details). {/note}

    Let me know or edit my revision if something else should be added.

    I edited the note as follows and moved it under the last step:

    {note}Note: If a search engine is added back after you restart Firefox, it may be a Firefox extension. Those can be removed using the Add-ons manager (see Disable or remove Add-ons for details). {/note}
