When you set up Firefox Sync on a second device, you're given a Passcode that needs to be entered on your Sync connected computer. This article will walk you through those steps.

How do I Add a Device?
Do these steps on a computer that has your Firefox Sync account set up on it.
- Start Firefox on a computer that already has Firefox Sync set up.
- In the Menu bar at the top of the screen, click and then select or , depending on your macOS version.Click the menu button and select In the .OptionsPreferences window, click on the Sync tab.
- In the Firefox Sync Account section, click on Add a Device and the Add a Device window will open.
- Enter the Passcode in the Add a Device window as it's displayed on your second device and then click Next.
- When the Passcode is accepted you will see a Device Connected message in Firefox and your device will immediately begin syncing.
How do I Add a Device when I'm not near my computer?
Do these steps on the device you are trying to add to Firefox Sync.
If you are trying to add a device to Firefox Sync and you are not near your computer so that you can enter the Passcode, you can still get it done by entering your account information.
- From the Connect to Sync screen, clicktap I'm not near my computer...
- Next, enter your Account Name (email address), Password, Sync Key and clicktap .
Your Sync Key is a long series of numbers that was generated for you when setting up your Sync account. If you don't have it saved in a file on your device or printed out, you'll need to retrieve it from your computer in order to complete this process.
