    P.S. Thunderbird already has a Config Editor article so we can use it as a guide.... or we can base the article on MozillaZine's about:config article. We can also use the about:config template, /kb/template:aboutconfig

    If we take content from http:kb.mozillazine.org/About:config we should add a MZ credit section at the end, like this:

    <!-- MZ credit --> <br/> <br/> '''''Based on information from [http://kb.mozillazine.org/About:config About:config (mozillaZine KB)]'''''

    I uploaded this image* of the about:config page and started to draft the article based on how MozillaZine's article starts off.

    Feel free, anyone, to add more content!

    If no one wants to continue the article I'll add more content when I can.

    [*]New aboutconfig image uploaded.

    A little....more faster way to "modify an existing preference" is to double click on the preference, then the "Enter string value" box, if it is a string open

    OR the "Enter integer value" box, if it is integer open

    OR, if it is boolean, directly toggle to false or true.

    A little....more faster way to "modify an existing preference" is to '''double click''' on the preference, then the "Enter string value" box, if it is a string open OR the "Enter integer value" box, if it is integer open OR, if it is boolean, directly toggle to false or true.

    I did think of adding the double-click method but you probably need to explain that it will automatically toggle a true-false preference. The right-click -> toggle method gives you an opportunity to confirm what you are doing. A right-click also gives the option to reset any user-set preference to its default value.

    Speaking of which, I was thinking to improve the paragraph about resetting preferences, to mention that only user-set preferences have the Reset option enabled and those are shown in bold type (or something to that effect). Since I've already marked the current changes ready to localize, I thought it was better to wait a bit.

    P.S. This thread is about the background for this article and links to past discussion. I started a new thread to discuss improving this article so I'll close this thread.
