Hello, I am running 5 different email accounts from my Thunderbird, 3 gmails, 1 school, and 1 hotmail. My primary email that I use (which is on top) is a gmail. When I receive an email to those 5 accounts, only 4 of the accounts become BLUE BOLD and also show the (#) the number of new unread email received. The problem is that my main email (which is a gmail) does not turn Blue (stays black) and does not show the (#) of new unread email.

And when I click on the account's inbox, the other 4 accounts show the new unread message as being BOLD, as it should be. However, in my main gmail account, the new unread email is NOT bolded.

So in my main gmail account, I never really know if there is a new email unless I specifically open that inbox and scroll all the way down by descending date every single time.

Is there some setting that I messed up on? I"m not sure what to do. I'm enclosing 2 jpgs for reference.

I get an error message about the outgoing mail server timing out when I try to send an email (see image). My email client says all my setting are correct, my isp says it's a problem with Thunderbird. We recently moved and had to use a new isp (Xplorenet). They suggest Thunderbird matches my email address with my ip address and if they don't match Thunderbird's records I get the default error message about the outgoing mail server timing out. How do I fix this problem so I can send emails.

Everytime clickto write an e-mail the attachment pane looks like in my picture, covering most of the address and topic lines I know I an close the pane with Alt-M but it is annoying to have todo that everytime, and YES, the attachment pane looks like this even when I have not clicked to add any attachment

I'm having trouble syncing my icloud "Sent messages" folder w/ Thunderbird. Albeit it works with kmail, evolution etc.

i've been using thunderbird for many many years & starting last tuesday i was no longer able to send or receive email. i looked at the tips online & tried many suggestions. i contacted AT&T and they allowed to me create a new password. that at least me to allow me to access & send email online, but that program is very inferior to thunderbird. hope you can help solve the problem, since i love thunderbird. thanks

When I print an email, the subject is now always "untitled" since the update to 78.5. Prior to this update, it would be whatever the subject of the email was. This is frustrating and takes time to fix, especially when printing to PDF.

How do I report this to the programmers?

TB 31.8.0 connects to my @btinternet email account, and it imported my My Documents and Address Book folders OK.

When I upgraded to TB 78.5, it connected to my @btinternet account (had to re-enter my password) but has no access to any of the folders imported from Outlook. The Import function in 78.5 does not seem to be able to get at the imported datasets on my hard drive (these have been backed up safely). (Re-installing 31.8.0 showed that these folders still exist.)

" An error occurred while sending mail: The mail server sent an incorrect greeting: resomta-ch2-01v.sys.comcast.net resomta-ch2-01v.sys.comcast.net CSI IP 184.170.166.177 is not permitted to send messages. Please contact support if you feel this is in error.."

I'd appreciate any help to fix this. Scott

Hi there, I am experiencing an issue with a Siteground email address since the last TB update. I have two other email addresses with another host that work. Just the one does not. I can receive, but not send/answer.

The error message keeps popping up, saying that TB can't connect to the server with my user name. The settings have worked before the update without any problem. I contacted Siteground and they say there is no issue from their side.

Can anyone help?

How can I stop being prompted to upgrade Thunderbird?

A while back I upgraded to version 78 only to realize that was a major mistake for me. It wasn't easy but eventually I got myself back to version 68 and turned off automatic updates to be sure that I would stay on 68.

Then, out of nowhere, when I rebooted my machine I was back on 78 and have no idea how that happened. Once again, I went through the painful backward migration but kept wondering how the second forward migration happened since I had turned off automatic updates.

I think I may know, now, how the second migration to 78 happened. Something like once a day, Thunderbird pops up a dialog box asking me if I want to upgrade and it appears that the affirmative is the default selection. I am afraid that at some point that dialog box popped up, stole my focus just as I was hitting 'RETURN' and it downloaded and installed 78 in the background. I didn't find out about it until I rebooted my machine and reopened Thunderbird.

I don't want that to happen again -- I cannot currently run on 78. I would really like to stop it harassing me to upgrade -- I will upgrade when it is okay for me to do so. Is there some way to stop that dialog from popping up?

My laptop was wiped and Windows 10 reloaded by a tech person (laptop had frozen in some fashion). He supposedly saved all my files/documents, but now I can't find my Thunderbird folders of saved emails, or my address book. I tried following instructions on the Mozilla website, but I don't know if they apply to this situation. I did find a folder for some Thunderbird material, but nothing that looks like a sub-folder with saved emails or addresses. Have I lost everything, or is there a way to retrieve the material?

I use DaZzle from stamps.com for my postages. Since yesterday, I get this message when I try to send a shipping confirmation email to my customers. Never happened before. I've been using Thunderbird basically seamlessly for the past 14 years.


There is no email program associated to perform the requested action. Please install an email program or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Programs control panel.

DaZzle was unable to start your e-mail client - you must have a MAPI compatible e-mail client for this future.

I am trying to organise my address books, which are very messy after years of using TB and not doing anything about it. but I cannot remove a single contact from the books! I have a Mac, but I deleted the contact I wanted to remove from my Mac contacts, but no way can I delete it from TB. And there is one contact with a spelling mistake that keeps appearing when I start typing a name, But I can't find it in the address book! It's simply not there, but If I don't watch out, I do use it.

how do I prevent Thunderbird from using separators for the signature? It appears to me that there might be a checkbox I do not know of.

I have set up a signature that ens the text with the usual closing (best wishes, my name and my contact details). With the separators according to RFC, the text looks a bit strange. I do not want to delete the separators each time I write an email. On my work I have use Outlook. Outlook does not use any separators for the signature.

We have several computers here using Thunderbird. We have just added a new one and installed Thunderbird on it too. Everything is synced on thunderbird on the new computer except the colored tags. These tags are customized and added onto the new computer just as every other computer. However these tags dont show up on the new computer. What can we do to solve this?
