For some reason, though I have changed absolutely nothing with my browser, now any time a link is supposed to open automatically in a new tab, it opens in an entire new window. My mouse only has two buttons (Magic Mouse on Mac), so there is no way at all for this to be user error in that regard. The best example is in Gmail when you have multiple accounts signed in, you click the profile picture in the upper right and select a different account which then opens in a new tab. I notice that when I use a fresh profile the issue goes away, and migrating a copy of my existing profile between different Firefox versions (this profile I use in 115 ESR exclusively, I don't use it with more than one version, I just mean for testing purposes here), including forks like Waterfox, all are affected by this issue. Is there something in about:config I should look for to change?

Hi everyone Since sep-15, The "Open previous windows and tabs" function is NOT working .. everytime i have to reopen all the previous tabs. I am not sure if any update has caused this. Please help. Thanks

I have an ultrawide screen, yet my pinned tabs only occupy 1/3rd of my screen width before you have to scroll through them. How do I make this area wide and allow more than 27 pinned tabs to be visible.

According to the "View recent browsing across windows and devices" command:

"Window 2 is current" and there is "Window 1" (which contains recent work)

My question(s):

How can I switch from window 2 (current) to window 1 (recent work)? and/or How can I combine both windows?

It used to be that when I clicked ctrl+tab in the browser it would move through my tabs. Now, instead of moving to the next tab, it pops up a thumbnail preview and scrolls through those, instead. This is not useful to me. Is there any way to either revert the behavior or is there a new keyboard shortcut to quickly move to the next tab?

every time i go to open a link it puts me in a new tab, even trying to use the original way of changing the preferences in the browser itself doesn't work, it either opens a new window or new tab. i dont like new tabs or new windows created while searching or opening links, please help :/

Recently updated to Windows 11 after Windows 10 stopped getting supported. After putting down several smaller issues on my own, I can encountered something I cannot fix on my own. Currently, I cannot detach, reattach, move tabs (With the exception of moving tabs with the right click menu). I could do all of these on Windows 10. I have already tried the browser.tabs.allowTabDetach setting in about:config to no success. I am starting to suspect it is a problem with windows versus a problem with Firefox because of an earlier bug where I couldn't move the windows entirely without enabling the Snap Windows function in my settings.

Please see this video. Double-clicking can only close the foreground tab. If I double-click the background tab, it will become the foreground tab, and double-clicking it multiple times in a short period of time will not close it. I have to wait about one second after stopping clicking the left mouse button before I can double-click it again to close it. Some Chromium-based browsers do not have this issue, and each of their tabs can be closed by double-clicking I can only show it with video. Please leave a message if you can't see the video.

There are many tabs open in the firefox window. I'm closing the firefox. I'm opening it again.All tabs opened during the previous opening disappear.Either a new page or a single tab opens. The settings are set to "Open previous windows and tabs" (Image 1)

I go to "Firefox View" ---"Open tabs". (image 2) I see 2-5 windows there.In this case, there are 3 windows.WINDOW 1 is my main window with the tabs that should have been saved and opened when firefox was launched again. I close all tabs from unnecessary windows with a cross.Only window 1 remains. But when restarting, an empty or different window opens again.And again, there are a lot of unnecessary and incomprehensible windows on the list. Previously, a window with restored tabs from the previous session always opened. Three days ago this started happening. When I mouse over the Firefox icon on my task bar, I get a long vertical list of open tabs, the majority of which are blank. When you try to click the X (that appears on the right side of the list when you mouse over a blank space) nothing happens. In the past few days it showed a random mix of blank tabs and open tabs. Yesterday it only showed the open tabs at the top with a long list of blanks below. And today it's only showing the one tab I have active (despite having up to five tabs open before I took the picture).

Before this all started happening, it used to show large tab previews (not just text) that run horizontally along the bottom of my screen when I hover my mouse over the Firefox icon on the taskbar. Now it's just a list that goes vertically with all these blank tabs.

How to return things to normal? (tab previews horizontally without blanks)

I'm running Windows 11 Home, Version 25H2, OS build 26200.7623 and Firefox: 147.0.1 (64-bit)

Hi, I want to make a simple extension for Firefox that auto toggles vertical tab based on the aspect ratio of the Firefox window. I found `sidebar.verticalTabs` in about:config that toggles vertical tabs, but a simple googling tells me that it is not possible for web extension to modify about:config values. Is there any other API that toggle vertical tabs? Thanks!

Sometimes drag functionality stops working. I can't grab a tab to move it to another position or to a new window. (Holding left click on the tab and moving the cursor does nothing). Also, re-merging the tab with another firefox window stops working. (Dragging a tab to a firefox window from another firefox window doesn't merge them. It does nothing) I can right click on the tab and select Move to move it to a new window but dragging stops working. I have to close Firefox and start it again (sometimes twice), then dragging starts working again. This happens multiple times a day. I am on Linux Mint and the version is 126.0 (64-bit). This problematic behavior has only recently began.

TAB I am a new user of Firefox and when I open the browser today, I only had the use of one tab on each window. Yesterday, before closing for the night, I had multiple tabs. How do I get tabs so I can open multiple windows on each screen?

Are tab groups like containers i.e. isolated from the others, so thay I can access sites logged into different accounts for instance or separate browsing experience/cookies ?
