I am wondering if it is at all possible to adjust the settings when pulling a tab into a new window. For example, if I am running Firefox fullscreen I would like the tab that I pull to be opened in windowed form. I noticed that this is typically the case when using Chromium-based browsers, but noticed that on Firefox it stays in the format as the previous window. (if already windowed the pulled tab will also be windowed) is there a way to ensure that the pulled tab will always be windowed?

When FF on my Windows 10 machine crashed FF asked if I wanted to refresh FF. I said yes, and FF reopened as usual with all my tabs. After I closed and reopened FF the next time, it reopened without any of my tabs. I then discovered that FF had unchecked the “Startup Open previous windows and tabs” box, which I had previously religiously monitored to be sure it was checked. So I lost all my previous tabs.

In my sessionstore-backups folder I found the file upgrade.jsonlz4-20 as last in a list of three more recent file names. I then dropped the file upgrade.jsonlz4-20 in the scrounger tool on this site: https://www.jeffersonscher.com/ffu/scrounger.html. It expanded in the big window, and when I clicked on Save uncompressed JSON as text, I see all the URLs run together in a text file.

How can I use this information to recover my tabs, please? If so, how? Or is there a better way to use the Scrounger – or another – tool?

Otherwise if I delete the three more recent file names in the list above the upgrade.jsonlz4-20 file, and restart FF will I recover the missing tabs? If so would I the check or uncheck the Startup Open previous windows and tabs box?

Lastly, can I restore my missing tabs using Windows’ “System restore” tool from 3 days before the crash?

"When you open a link, image or media in a new tab, switch to it immediately" is happening - even though the box is unchecked. Only in favorites bar, not in web page or Firefox homepage Shortcuts (1 row or 2 rows) or Recent activity.

It's very irritating, so i hope there is a solution...?

When I have a website open and want to open a new one from the bookmark bar it opens it in the same tab, thus losing the first website. How do I stop this happening? I want to open several websites from bookmarks and have them all open at the same time. Thanks.

Starting about 13:00 Thursday 06/02 multiple (100+) search tabs for items on E-Bay listed 24 hours prior randomly result in an error page with a child with an orange hoodie saying: "We looked everywhere. Looks like this page is missing. If you still need help, visit our help pages."

Entering the error title on a successful title search does result in a successful search the tab for which can then replace the tab which resulted in the error page.

There can be zero results, or many results, I do not see a pattern with this as to if there were results or not.

This would be happening about 5% of the time, however considering how time consuming recreating hundreds of searches would.....

E-Bays says transfer Firefox tabs to Gmail and see if problem persists.

They said no one else has reported this.

Any ideas.

No recent changes to computer, or Firefox. Windows 10.

I use google meet a lot. I need to screen my screen very often. i have used other web browsers which let to share a singe tab in the meet, but in firefox, can only get the option for either a window or an entire screen which is very inconvenient. I have lost my tabs after accidentally clicking top right hand cross and now can't all my 30 tabs back, very frustrating! This the one that keeps coming back which is not the page I want.

For the third time with a broken arm! I set up my home page and tabs for work, banking etc. Last 2 days after I have closed down the night before, all my tabs are gone. I can't spend half a day setting them all up again only to have them, disappear again. Please find my tabs and restore them so I can continue my work.

When i try to log into my banking at anz.com.au Login i always get "Your Tab just Crashed " Just tried a tastingaustralia.com.au and a tab that says "explore winter series" i get the same Your tab just crashed The banking login has been like this for weeks If i log in using Edge it works fine Whats wrong with Firefox  ??

Sometimes, I'll click a new tab, and "something" happens. It's like it tries to create a new tab, yet it's just a half-formed nothing that you can't interact with. And when this happens, Firefox is destined to eventually crash / become unresponsive. I literally have to reboot to get Firefox working again. I haven't tried logging out. That would probably work, too.

This also happens when moving new tabs, but I've only notice that happen on tabs with Youtube.com open.

When I pin a tab, then quit Firefox, the pin is lost forever.

Most other tickets I've seen are about restoring them, but I'm looking for some setting to change so that I can pin tabs.

My history is set to: Remember My setting to delete all cookies and site data on close is unchecked

This has happened twice now - I've had a main window open with 100+ tabs and a second window open with only one tab. All settings are as described to save history, etc. After closing Firefox and later restarting, only the window with a single tab is restored. I've saved the session backup files in another location and manual copied and renamed them into the main profile folder but in each attempt, only the single tab window was restored, which is obviously not what I want. I know the 100+ tabs are in the file because of the filesize and because I've used https://www.jeffersonscher.com/ffu/scrounger.html to scrounge the URLs from the backup file. But the point is that Firefox is NOT extracting the data from this file and restoring the other window, which makes me suspect there is a bug or problem with session restore when more than one window is open at the time of shutdown.
