Hello! I have used Firefox on and off so I don't have a time frame of when this would have started exactly, but I have had some random completely black screens on both of my monitors dating back to at least 2-3 weeks ago that can only be fixed by powering down the entire PC. I've reinstalled my (NVIDIA) GPU drivers, rearranged display-port cables and just about anything before finally finding a fix, switching to edge. So far I've gone a week without black screening when with Firefox I'd get around 4 give or take a week (some days getting to 3 alone). I don't know what could cause it but I have noticed it only happens when first starting a video. Mostly YouTube but other video sites seem to have also caused it occasionally, I would just like to know what could be causing this, as I do prefer Firefox vastly and would like to switch back as soon as I can.

I have a problem with PDF showing.

If I take PDF generated by the lilypond and I open it from link like https://gitlab.com/lilypond/lilypond/uploads/f51162c65d5194db6dd3b4fb86fa4e42/bug.pdf, PDF looks well. If I open same PDF from disk by using link like file:///tmp/bug.pdf , PDF looks different (wrong). Some ledger lines missing.

I am running firefox 117.0 (64 bit) for Arch linux.

Recently, when I try to play a video on YouTube on Firefox, there is a flickering brightness effect (some aspects of the video seem to flicker bright and dark quickly) which is distracting and makes it difficult to watch anything. The effect persists even when launching in troubleshooting mode, and disabling hardware acceleration and restarting appears to have no effect. I have also been unsuccessful refreshing Firefox. Nevertheless, this issue is absent on Safari and Chrome when watching the same video.

When I find the same video two different places (ex: the Apple Sept 12 Event on Apple's site, versus on YouTube) only the YouTube video has the issue. However, I can't find any settings to change on YouTube to help this.

Ever since doing a refresh of FF two days ago, Yahoo mail doesn't work. I'm able to log in but contacts are missing and I cannot refresh the page without getting "The page isn’t redirecting properly." To log back in I have to either shut down FF (my settings are to clear cookies on shutdown) or clear cache or history every 5 minutes. I have not changed my extensions or other FF settings I had before the refresh. I have cleared cookies, cleared cache, added yahoo to the cookie exceptions list and nothing helps.

Hello ! ..I need help ! I accidentally refreshed Firefox, and now I cannot re-open all the tabs and the 2 windows I had prior to the refresh -- is there a way to get them back ?! I really woudl hate to have lost them all... Cheers

This problem started yesterday and I cant seem to fix it where youtube is too wide for my screen without any indicator on the top of my screen saying that its zoomed in and I cant watch any videos fullscreen. This glitch isn't a problem on any other websites. I tried opening and closing the browser, I tried restarting my computer tried clearing my cache and cookies and I tried using different accounts but none of them seem to fix the problem!

All images, webm, gif etc. are loading, seemingly, exactly 20% upscaled compared to the real resolution of the media. I'm using a 4k TV (S95B), but I have desktop scaling at 100%, and browser scaling at 100%. I don't believe it's a GPU or OS system wide type setting because windows photo viewer gets pictures right. I'm using ShareX to measure the pixels of pictures. I can even load a local picture in a tab, and it will be upscaled beyond its native resolution. I have no idea why. I've tried a bunch of things, like setting layout.css.devPixelsPerPx to 1.0, which did nothing. I've reset Firefox to no avail, and I have noticed that Chrome is doing the same thing, which would usually indicate it could be the OS or GPU driver, but again, other apps load images perfectly normally. Do apps have categories on Windows now, where something like a "browser" can be told to treat media files differently than other media handling categories? I'm really lost at this point, nothing seems to work.

Have had this problem for a couple of years now, across dozens of Firefox updates. Decided to finally make a post since have not been able to find anything online.

Normally not too much of an issue as I can edit on a different computer through Firefox Sync (or through the Bookmarks manager), just posting to see if anyone else has seen this before.

If I open a Bookmarks Toolbar folder, then right-click a bookmark to edit it, the contextual menu appears behind the open folder dropdown menu.

Issue persists even if I reset Firefox, or even completely uninstall / remove ALL its bits and pieces, reboot, and do a clean install.

Since I am on a Mac, I use the AppCleaner app from FreeMacSoft to completely remove an app.

This happens only on one of my two Macs. Have never seen this behavior on any other Mac (I work on dozens for work). Both my Macs also have Win 10 installs through BootCamp and those two also behave normally. I use Firefox Sync across 4 Firefox installs (2 Mac OS and 2 Win 10), an iPhone, and an iPad.

Screenshot enclosed below. Feel free to ask for any other info you may need. I recognize this may not be a Firefox issue. There seems to be a funky interaction between my install of Mac OS and Firefox. This occurs only with Firefox. All other apps exhibit normal menu behaviors.

Tech details: Firefox 117.0 Mac OS Catalina 10.15.7 running on mid 2012 15" MacBook Pro with 1 TB SSD and 16 GB RAM

When I'm using my Firefox browser spell checking is working only with English language. Polish is my native language and I want use this function to Polish as well and set Polish as my default language. I tried to adding/removing other languages than Polish from options, setting higher priority to Polish language, how ever I have no result with that. Please help, will highly appreciate. Thanks in advance.

It would be great to be able to add a 'friendly name' to cards stored. I have personal, joint account and business cards saved, it can get a little confusing.

Certain images are never created or loaded in my browser. Youtube thumbnails, for example, display as only light grey squares. I thought maybe my addons might be causing this, but the only one that seems capable is uBlock Origin, and I even disabled it completely. Anyone know what could cause this? Surely its a caching issue or something. I can include images if anyones curious.

Using arch's latest version. I recently upgraded my firefox version to 117.0, and can't play any videos from different sources.

The image freezes and is in an eternal buffering state.

I tried downgrading to 116.0 and 115.0, and the issue persists, so it doesn't seem to be related to the latest Firefox version.

So far, I've confirmed the same issue in YouTube and Twitch.

On Twitch, the videos are super laggy. The image freezes, then moves to a different scene, freezes again, and then the same thing over and over.

On YouTube, it always shows as loading. If I try to move it to play a different time in the video, it works for half a second and then freezes again.

The issue still occurs if I try incognito mode, troubleshoot mode and refreshing Firefox. I already tried disabling hardware acceleration (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1206076) and have no more ideas or options.
