suddenly today the mic has stopped working in Chat GPT. I have changed nothing... checked all settings, everything is ok... why does it suddenly say "Enable Mic Access to Dictate"?

Where is the configuration setting that enables javascript. Consumer Reports requires that the application be enabled to participate in a webinar I want to attend

Tabs disappeared after I updated (as suggested) to the latest Firefox version (Version 142.0.1). My bookmarks were retained, but my tabs disappeared. How can I find them? When I look at "recently closed tabs" under "History," I only see tabs from today, none that were on the previous version of Firefox.

Q: Homepage and Tabs allows URLs; New Tabs offers only Blank and Firefox Home (Default)

Any way for New Tabs to also have a URL? Why not?

So I just noticed an odd thing today. In the URL bar there is a new icon listed as 'add to taskbar' and 'toggle reader view'. The former interests me more than the latter. I get the idea behind it, but it's not really for me. Is there a way to remove these from the URL bar? I looked in settings, but didn't see anything. So if it's not there, I'm guessing it needs to be fixed in about:config? If so, where do i look for these?

German language pack not available :( manually downloaded verisons of german Language pack are incompatible.

I am trying to set up a new computer. I have customized the homepage and new windows to a preferred page, however I cannot customize the new tab settings. The only options for a new tab are either Firefox homepage or blank page. I am trying to find a way to have my preferred homepage open when I open a new tab.

Ever since upgrading to Windows 11, my Firefox installation has occasionally been unable to resolve domain names of some websites. Example domains:

• apps.powerapps.com
• static.cdninstagram.com
• google.com

As I was trying to debug this, I discovered that the DNS resolution and connection timings are just over 30 seconds (see the attached image). This is highly unusual.

• The issue does not occur with other web browsers on my computer (i.e., Microsoft Edge).
• The issue has persisted across reboots.
• I have already reinstalled Firefox (and wiped the temp files and appdata profile before installing again).
• The issue does not occur with other devices on my home network.
• DNS over HTTPS has been manually disabled.
• Changing DNS resolvers in my Windows settings does not fix the issue.
• The issue is still present with a fresh, unmodified installation of Firefox.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I love Firefox and do not want to switch to a different browser.

bold text When I use Google to search I always use the microphone instead of the keyboard. When I am using Firefox to search there is NO microphone.. I have to use my keyboard. Is there somewhere in settings where I can add this function to search?

Im using Windows 10 Pro 64 bit on a Asus laptop with 32GB RAM in it and a i9-9980HK @ 2.40GHz. It has a GeForce RTX 2060 graphics card in it with 6GB memory. I use it for work and need to have multiple tabs open at a time as a result. I always have at least 4 tabs and can sometimes get up to around 10. I also have Zoom running as well.

I keep seeing a ton of Firefox processes open when I look at Task Manager. Attached is a screenshot I just took with 7 tabs open. It shows 34 processes in the first clump with more open outside of that one.

I unchecked Use recommended performance settings and checked Use hardware acceleration when available but all that did is lower the amount of RAM being used by 100MB. I have 2 extensions enabled in Firefox, AdBlocker for YouTube and AdBlocker Ultimate. They have never been a problem before. This lag and massive overusage of RAM has only started in the last couple of weeks.

Anyone know why this is happening or how to reduce how much RAM Firefox is using? I like this browser and would have to have to switch to another one. Thanks in advance.

I have spent the last half hour searching with Google and on Muzila help – everywhere that I can possibly think of and every combination of words and every hit I get that supposedly is the instructions on how to recover sync by entering my account recovery key NEVER leads to a page where I can enter my account recovery key.
