Good Evening, My company requested a factory restart and I compiled. I am working to restoring my old firefox bookmarks and preferably history/settings. Is there a way to find and restore this data? I am using the same firefox account as before the reset. Thank you.

Also, what are the best practices for backing up my data in the future to easily restore or transfer my settings and bookmarks in the future?

Hello, I need help. I downloaded and installed Firefox (latest version), the icon appears in the taskbar, but when I click on it, FireFox does not launch and I always get the same error message. I uninstalled, reinstalled, restarted the PC, but I still have the same problem, even starting from firefox.exe in Windows (C:) >Programs>Mozilla Firefox. Could it be possible that Microsoft is blocking the launch of Mozilla Firefox? Thank you in advance for your help. Attached is a screenshot of the error message. WED 21FEB24 The urgent issue is that in the last few weeks, many web pages do not load content, just a grey or white screen. Some will load the header. I am the Executor for someone's estate, and I am having this trouble with some financial websites that I must access to do the job.

Its been many years since I upgraded anything. It might be that Macintosh Firefox 78.15.0 esr (64 bit) and Thunderbird 60.9.1 are the newest revs that work with OSX 10.11.6 El Capitan. I have a 2011 MacBookPro.

I don't like the changes in the user interface that Apple put into OSX after El Capitan. But I may be forced to upgrade. Too late in life to learn Linux.

Maybe the minimalist solution is to upgrade Firefox. But that may require upgrading OSX, and Apple has made it really hard to do that unless you go to the very newest. OTOH I don't know if the newer OSX will run on my 2011 MacBook Pro. If I clicked on "software update" in About This Mac, what would happen? would it just start doing it, or tell me about it first?

The last time I upgraded something, probably Thunderbird but maybe it was Firefox, I had to learn a complicated process to copy & save the User Profiles (they are in a hidden directory), and then install them into the new rev. I don't want to go through that again. I just want to run the dmg file.

There used to be a Mozilla web page with all the versions & you could download the dmg file you wanted.

If I still have problems, I would have to buy a much newer computer. A several year old MacBookPro. But I don't like the "new" disk formatting method Apple created. It saves space by not actually making copies of files, but uses a pointer to one copy. So there is a single point of failure, which makes copies pointless. I want to keep using OSX Extended (Journaled) and I would have to have the seller of the computer do that for me, before I used Migration Assistant to put my stuff on it. I also hate the welded-on hard drive; being able to pull the drive is the best "broken hardware" solution.

I don't recall if El Capitan has the "OSX Recovery" system or if that happened in a later rev.

I use SuperDuper to make a clone of my hard drive as a backup & archive. I wonder if I could connect a copy on an external drive and then startup using the external copy. Then I could upgrade Firefox and see if it works, then do the same for OSX if necessary, and Thunderbird.

About a week ago I started getting these update error messages stating "Update available - Firefox couldn't update automatically. Download the new version". I've also tried clicking "Learn more" on the error message but it's a dead link. Going into the settings for updates I am set to auto update, but when I manually check for updates it says "Failed to check for updates".

The help article on this issue simply tells you to download and manually reinstall Firefox, but I'm having to do this nearly every day. I work in IT myself so I know a "bandaid" workaround when I see one. Is there a solution to this issue?

I recently migrated data from my old MacBook Pro to a new MacBook Air. I installed Firefox on my new computer as it did not migrate. It installed fine but will not launch. Please help.

My hp laptop crashed. I was able to remove the hard drive, put it in a sleeve and I trying to find my firefox bookmarks. All of my other files are there. I have tried every path posted online and i still cannot find them. I found two mozilla files but, no bookmarks. Can you assist? I dont know where to look.

Firefox Settings/Help/About failed to show most recent version of Firefox. I downloaded and re-installed to get Version 122 but now I have two entries in Windows 10 App. One is dated 2022 (probably the original 32 bit version) and the other is dated today. Can I safely delete the older entry?

I started using firefox actively a year back or something like that, last couple of months it started driving me nuts as it started updating every time I launch it, which is very annoying even if it takes only 10 15 seconds, I sometimes need to check something really quick and I have to wait for it to finish installing an update, even though I checked the setting for it to do so in the background, it seems to only do it after I launch it disrupting my workflow, which made me switch back to Chrome temporarily, is there a way to fix this?

Firefox bookmarks exported from old Windows PC to html file. File transferred to new Windows PC and imported into Firefox. 'Bookmarks Imported Successfully' message seen. However no bookmarks visible in Firefox bookmark menu. Suggestions please?

I am still on windows10..Recently have used firefox much less. Today when tried it says that firefox is running and the new try is (3) which is on the task manager. I recently got a new computer (HP Dragonfly) and set Firefox as my default browser but when I click on a link from Outlook it opens in Edge. I'm using Windows11. I have: 1) Confirmed in Firefox settings that Firefox is the default 2) Confirmed in Edge settings that Edge is not the default browser 3) Confirmed in Windows default settings that Firefox is the default browser 4) Ensured in Outlook-Options-Advanced that "Open Hyperlinks in from Outlook" is set to "Default Browser" 5) Uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox. Also restarted my computer several times And yet, clicking on links from Outlook continues to open Edge. Please help I really don't like Edge!

I want Firefox to open PDFs in browser. I have opt in for two options from setting both are not working.

1. I have choose always ask where to save files and that is not working because it is always saving files in downloads. 2. I have choose Firefox option from save or open files to open files and not save files; it did not work (Firefox downloaded the files not opened it). Then I tried always ask, from always ask menu then I choose open with Firefox and it opened in Firefox but it saved the file.

Please let me know how can this issue be resolved. I do not want to download files and when I do want to download, I want to choose a specific location for each file. I am trying a transition to Firefox from chrome. So, I am very new to these settings.

I have used FireFox for years Now I can not download VPN as it requiers W 10+ I can not afford new computer, I am a Disabled Viet Nam Vet/ A MARINE I dd not what all these new apps and maybe Windows is blocking download - HELP
