I had to actually sign up fort a Mozilla account,the multiple hoops I had to jump through were ridicules, in order to ask a question of Firefox. I do not want my address bar to be my search engine. How do I disable the search engine in my address bar? And now I have to wait for an answer!!!!!!!! I used to love and trust Firefox. Not anymore.

When a system-wide VPN application (not built into Firefox) is enabled, the behavior of the address bar changes: on the first click, it only shows 5 sites (Top Sites), instead of the usual 9. After pressing the Spacebar, the list from browsing history loads normally. The problem persists after turning off the VPN and only disappears after a full restart of Firefox. Since latest upgrade (1/16/2026) I cannot log in to Outlook email. This is specific to Firefox 147.0.1 (Chrome and Pop Peeper logins to Outlook work fine). I tried clearing cache, updating, restarting, rebooting, trouble-shooting mode, private window etc. to no avail. I get 400 error from Outlook.

Previous solution: switch browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.improvesearch.handoffToAwesomebar to false does not work anymore.

Please help.

When I try to make a Google search I get the following message, "I'm not a robot" with a reCAPTCHA: "Our systems have detected unusual traffic from your computer network. This page checks to see if it's really you sending the requests, and not a robot. Why did this happen?". This happens on Firefox, but not Chrome or Edge. If I 'Allow' Google in the 'Exceptions - Cookies and Site Data' then I do not get the message, but it takes several seconds for Google display the resulting page. However, if I delete the cookies/cache the message will return and I have to redo the reCAPTCHA. I have scanned with Malwarebytes, Bitdefender, Hitman Pro, Trend Micro House Call and Microsoft Defender, nothing detected. Running Win 10 (64) with 'Extended Security Updates', Firefox 147.0 (64), no additional Extensions or Plugins. Also I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox.

on all New Tabs and too Windows the Weather-Functionality appears wrong. It appears absolutely impossible to change the Weather for the actually location - so it appears as you may delete that future in general

As of 12/9/25, Firefox seems to now prevent Theme add-ons from working if there is a contrast setting configured in Windows configuration. (Version 146.0) Previously, this allowed a very aesthetically pleasing view. I would greatly enjoy having that option again. Thank you.

[article] This article claims there is an "AI Controls" section in Settings. This is not found in v 147.03 (up to date) for Mac. Please let me know how to disable all AI in Firefox.

I signed into my firefox account on my wife's computer and now ALL of her bookmarks, passwords are mixed in with my data. I've signed out of both accounts on that computer. I've signed out and relogged in on my computer. This is not a temporary issue. All of her data is somehow in my account. This seems like a MAJOR security flaw of the software. Were both using Windows 11 computers.

A heart has recently been included in the Firefox icon in my taskbar. What's the reason for it and what do I have to do so that the Firefox icon no longer has it? I've run a number of antimalware programs and they came up with nothing.
