I think the about:config setting "browser.bookmarks.autoExportHTML" "True" will cause the saving of bookmark.html to the current profile when FireFox shuts down. I found that in a Help response.
Included in the response was a method of saving bookmark.html to a different location.
I cannot find the that help response and would like to implement a save in another location.

I want to search for information on a specific product Steca sewing machine. Unfortunately Firefox displays every permutation of Singer sewing machine and I've spent hours trawling for the information I'm looking for, without success. Google (yuck, need to wash my mouth out) has a feature which limits the search to only search on the search criteria I request eg only to show websites/pages that have the word Steca in them. How can i do this on Firefox?
I really like Firefox although it is heavily skewed to USA - pity as I live in Europe, my preferences and location are set to Europe and I would prefer to see fewer USA websites and pages and more from Europe.
invalid characters
Seriously...why can't Mozilla fix the invalid unicode characters from displaying? Can't figure it out? Or just plain lazy?

What is the expected behavior of the "Work Offline" mode regarding the access to a local server? To test my new Progressive Web App and its Service-Worker, I'd like to switch off temporary firefox from the network access. For this purpose, I though to use File->"Work Offline". What I observe is that in "Work Offline" mode the access to internet is disable (as I expect) but the access to my local web server for development is still avalaible (and I'm surprise about this behavior). To make sure that the Browser cache is not responsible for this behavior, I have clear the cache and disable the cache. Still I get the unexpected behavior: In "Work Offline" mode, Firefox can still request and download data from a localhost server! If I stop my localhost server, then Firefox complains about the missing data. Which is what I expect and what I also would like to see in "Work Offline" mode. What is the expected behavior of the "Work Offline" mode for the local servers? Is the current behavior a bug? I have also tried Chromium and it behaves as I expect, i.e. in "Work Offline" mode access to internet AND local servers are prevented. I'm running Ubuntu 18.04 and Firefox 67.0.3 (64-bit)

Until I updated the browser this morning I would normally:
Click the icon on the left of the address bar (where the URL is shown). While still holding the mouse button down, move the pointer to the desktop, then release the mouse button. The shortcut will be created.
This no longer works. Any suggestions. Using Windows 7.

Google Maps was a valid search engine choice, but after updating and having to reinstall Firefox because it was freezing with some programs that used to work fine, now it is not an option. I can download Google Maps Quick Search as an add on, but it will not allow being listed in my search box as an option. How can I get it back in as an option. I am using Windows 10 on an ACER E5-575-33BM.
How make text invisible now that <font> is obsolete? What works according to w3c doesn't work in Firefox.

Working code was:
<h4 id="02"> /* Heading address */ <a href="#TOC">And the Disbenefits</a> /* Minor Heading. Return to Table of Contents when clicked */ <span class="navb"> /* Tufte left-margin-button code */ <font color="transparent">▼ ▽</font> /* Blank out major-heading buttons */ <a href="#01">⩓</a> <a href="#03">⩔</a> /* Show minor previous- and next-buttons */ </span></h4> /* Close Tufte-hack and heading */
["navb" puts 4 triangular navigation buttons in the left margin, a la Edward Tufte. The buttons should not appear to move if you leave the mouse alone while running down the headings. For most major headings, the first triangle is white, pointing up, and 2 pixels wider than the black button shown, which goes to the final header.]
This made the large triangles disappear for minor headings, without disturbing the small triangles. No other approach I could find prevents jitter when running through a list also containing headers with buttons like
<h2 id="00"> /* Heading address */ <a href="#TOC">BENEFITS OF RELIGION</a> /* MAJOR heading. Return to TOC when clicked. */ <span class="navb"> /* Tufte-hack */ <a href="#RD">▼</a> <a href="#09">▽</a>  /* FINAL and NEXT major headings */ <a href="#01">⩔</a> </span></h2> /* Previous minor meading. Close everything. */
, because the triangles are different sizes for different colors (SLOVENLY FONT DESIGN ! ). But went obsolete after I implemented 400 of these section headings. If you modify the w3c page
https://www.w3schools.com/tags/tryit.asp?filename=tryhtml_font_color_css
you find that
<span style="color:transparent">▼ ▽</span>
works well -- but not in Firefox. What to do?

Some websites take up a good deal of room when I go to their pages. I don't mind an icon, or even one word, but someties there's little room left to see the URL when I want to check it or type another. How do I get rid of those pesky long IDs?
Also, I've managed to get rid of several of the icons, but I know there's a way to combine them all with only the star showing unless I mouseover or actually ask to see them. The last FF update took that away and I can't find mention of it anywhere and can't remember where I found it. Can someone direct me there?

Hi.
I'm using Firefox Quantum 60.4.0esr (64-bit) on my CentOS 7 Linux system with KDE 4.9 desktop environment.
From time to time I'm no more able to scroll the Firefox window with the mouse wheel. I need to change the focus to another window and come back to Firefox to reactivate a proper scrolling, or just minimize and reopen the Firefox window.
A systematic malfunction can also be reproduced as follow: while scrolling is working in Firefox, open another generic application window and then close it so coming back with focus on the Firefox window; scrolling no more works also after clicking on the Firefox window.
Any suggestions? Thank you.

Hi, In website's drop down lists (HTML select elements), I know you can "go to first item starting with xyz" by typing xyz.
But is there a way to go to first item that contains xyz?
For instance, if I have a long drop down list (HTML select) with the name of the countries, I can hightlight "France" by typing "Fra". Can I highlight it by typing something like "ance"? If not, I guess I should open a bugzilla ticket.
My actual usecase is that the select values are not starting with the country names, but starting with special characters " » France", and the number of spaces before the quotes may vary.
