First came the Linux upgrade and with it the enforced new Firefox version. The new Firefox appeared "raw" with none of my previous settings. I am having trouble filling in the Firefox toolbar and recovering things like "most visited" sites listing and many others. There must be a common sense limit to the "happy developers'" ideas.

Using noVNC to access a wired LAN host on Linux using Firefox v111 uses ~5% CPU on an AMD 5600X. Upgrading to Firefox v112 causes CPU utilization in the exact same use case to jump to ~35% with spikes over 70%. Additionally the responsiveness drops dramatically, and is difficult to use. I've tried a completely new profile with the default settings, and the results are the same. I've reverted back to v111 for the moment.

My application manages an online ordering system. Testing is done on a local server using localhost domain name. Fedora 35 with Apache server. Application is PHP.

The application creates a list of orders using a MySQL database. The list is presented and an order can be accessed via a link (which uses localhost domain in the URL). This step works fine, the order is displayed for the user. A link on that display allows the user to enter a small message for the order, that link uses localhost domain in the URL. That link works fine, the screen where the user can enter the small message is displayed.

When the user inputs the message and presses the submit button of the form (the URL for the form is, once again, using localhost in the URL), the application hangs for a minute and a 504 Gateway Timeout error message is displayed.

I have examined the simple html code thoroughly and find no obvious errors. I have tried many different kinds of URL specifications in the form with no difference in result. I have replaced the 'submit' in the form with a Javascript call to submit the form, with no change in result. I have run the application with and without internet connectivity with the same results.

I am trying to understand why several steps preceding this failure, all using the same URL format and all accessing localhost are successful, but this one fails.

Everytime I try to access myAir.resmed.com I get a blank screen. When I do it with google chrome it works. Something set wrong in settings but can't find it.

Some extensions NEED buttons -- adblock, tinyurl, etc. Some extensions provide a 'pin to *bar' switch. Some do it automatically. SOME, however, seem incapable of attaching their button in the Nightly/linux version (although they work fine in FF82/linux). I especially want to be able to use the 'Remove cookies' button which works ONLY on the current page and which is absolutely useless without a button. I haven't checked with the author(s) yet, but I will.

Is this just an oversight or was this function removed deliberately?

I've been using firefox as my main browser and I've created a account and using it all the time for syncing the settings, bookmarks, logins, extensions etc.

BUT due to some unwanted (really irritating) search suggestion were being shown to me by firefox, I had to uninstall firefox from my system.

• • Throughout the process, I'd kept syncing ON always!!

But when I installed firefox again and after loggedin, I'm syncing everything but this is restoring (syncing) very old data which doesn't have my latest bookmarks, extenstions & saved logins!!

How DO I get my all data???

This is pretty much a duplicate of https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1334684 : I have the uBlock Origin and Skip Redirect extensions installed, both work by checking/modifying the URL of the site I am trying to visit.

Unfortunately, I am running into some sites that are re-directed via some tracking URLs. Here's one example I had today:

As you can see, the destination URL is embedded within the tracker URL and as such, is exactly what Skip Redirect was designed to deal with. Unfortunately, uBlock Origin seems to look at the URL before Skip Redirect does and blocks it outright because it is a known tracker (awstrack.me).

If I could tell Firefox to let Skip Redirect modify the URL first (to https://www.allaboutcircuits.com/technical-articles/analyzing-dc-and-steady-state-ac-circuits-with-python/ ), uBlock Origin didn't need to block access to it.

Is there a way to change the order in which extensions are applied (i.e. get to run) when a URL is opened?

I have installed two dictionaries, "English (United Kingdom)", and "French". However, when I go to check a spelling, (right click/Languages over the suspect word), I am offered a third dictionary choice, "English (United States), which I do not want. I have removed the US dictionary and even the language pack but the menu item persists. I can find no way to get rid of it.

My platform is Debian 11.6: My FireFox install is 102.10.0esr (64-bit)

I was assisting my wife in making an appointment at the US Embassy in Manila via the US Embassy website. It all worked correctly *until* I chose the appointment day and time and clicked to continue. Rather than confirm the appointment, it told me I needed an up-to-date browser that supported 128 bit encryption. Now I know FireFox does support that. The screen looked like it thought I was using Netscape!

I switched to Chrome (much to my annoyance) and the website worked. This is not the first time I have found that I have to abandon FireFox to do something when using it on Linux. I haven't been on Windows for a while, but I don't remember this problem on that platform. This is a real problem. Please fix it. There is no reason why a website should think FireFox is Netscape.

Firefox supports Websockets, which allows servers to push arbitrary data to the client, instead of having to rely on polling methods via HTTP and JS. Whilst solving one problem, it creates another. I do not like the idea that any website can just ask Firefox to make a persistent WS connection without my consent. The same is true for service workers, but (unlike websockets) i'm not at all interested in using those. Luckily there's a configuration option to disable support for websockets, network.websocket.enabled, wich is exactly what i've done.

Is there a way to selectively allow websockets, based on IP or domain? If not, why isn't there one? Am i really the lone outsider who's concerned about security?

I recently went to use my card to buy something off ebay, my card is probably in the depths of my room, so i went to check firefox, it shows the last 4 digits of my card, showing that it did save it, but i cannot access it, and i cannot use the number on the card? I would really like to retain it, can anyone enlighten me? Thanks

I use Firefox for many years, no problems. But recently I got fake websites with www.maccabi4u.co.il and PayPal. What is wrong? I downloaded Chrome and it does not happen.

I would like to enable picture-in-picture without constantly having a popup for it anytime my cursor goes onto the video screen. You could just put a button somewhere out of the way. It's so annoying I have to just disable it, and that's not right. Nobody needs popups of any kind for anything ever. It's the same as an ad.

Using firefox in linux mint 19.3 mate. Until firefox 97, I could control the size and color of the firefox scrollbars with a system CSS. Since a firefox update to version 98, firefox ignores those settings. Nothing has changed in my firefox settings, my about:config, or system settings. But now the scrollbars are barely visible low contrast narrow bars that are unpleasant to work with, and I can't figure out how to change this. suggestions? tnx

I want to switch off (cancel) password save for one website. I have followed the recommended procedure and re-started Firefox, but it still saves the password after I do that. This is one set of instructions I tried following, without success:

I'm willing to debug an older release of Firefox (ver. 98.0). In order to do that, since I don't want to compile, I wanted to download the debug symbols from Mozilla's symbol server. I followed the documentation provided about this service but I still can't make the server give me something else than 404 Not Found.

From what I understood, I tried fetching symbols using this URL : https://symbols.mozilla.org/firefox/firefox-98.0-Linux-20220304153049-linux64-mozilla-release-symbols.txt

But the file doesn't exist. The /firefox sub-directory doesn't exist either.

How do I properly use this service ? Thank you for your time,

I cannot install English GB dictionary for my spell checker. When I click add dictionaries it takes me to a page where I can select Englsih GB as one of the dictionaries available in my locale. It then takes me to the info and remove page for the dictionary but there is no option to install and no pop up to start the download appears.
