Recent update from MSFT (?) anyhow, suddently Firefox has crashed and can no longer access - can no longer uninstall and reinstall. Simply does not work & I am hoping to be able to correct this so all my various bookmarks, passwords, etc are not suddenly gone

yesterday my email wasn't opening links and then Firefox acted strangely so I cleared the cache. (I'm on windows 11) Today when I clicked on the app icon it created a shortcut instead of launching Firefox. What is going on? I have used FireFox as my default browser for the past 15 or more years and I don't want to switch to Chrome or MS Edge.

I was able to open Firefox by going to the app under settings - but that is not how I have done it before.

Any thoughts as to what is happening?

I keep getting the Firefox download page instead of the Firefox browser on my Windows 11 computer, even though I downloaded it several times after it was accidentally knocked off by some other program. How can I get it back to the Firefox browser?

Hello, I cannot open my browser. I did try Microsoft edge and that one worked....but I want my Firefox one! I did reset my modem. Can you help me please?

When I click the firefox icon on my desktop, I cannot open firefox because it says Cannot transfer data from s.aolcdn.com

When I try to open Firefox, I get a box saying it is open, and I must close it. I do so, and a new Firefox pops up. However when I try to close that, it won't do so.

I cannot get into Firefox due to an error message that keeps coming up. Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible.

I have tried deleting and reinstalling it, but it didn't really uninstall completely. I have tried a few suggestions from online, which didn't work. I also tried right clicking on the Firefox symbol and went into some of the different options, but nothing worked for me.

I am trying to sign in , Firefox is my browser. message come on that firefox is running but it does not open. I close it once and again as the same sign comes uo telling me it is running and close the attempts.

Do I really NEED to swithc to another browser to avoid this?

How can I resolve the failure to open because it can't find the XPCOM. I downloaded a new copy but the computer insists on using the older, faulty version to open files and it will not work.

I have an app showing on my desktop. It does nothing. I would like to be able to use my previous desktop for using firefox. If that is not possible. I would simply like to use.

I can't open Firefox. I keep getting the message "Firefox is already running, but is not responding. The old Firefox process must be closed to open a new window.". I can't find it to close. I tried uninstalling it, but I keep circling back to the same message. I tried refreshing it and again same message. I un installled Surfshark VPN, I ran Windows Defender antivirus. I am now out of ideas. I do have two profiles, but the message about deleting them is scary. I don't want to do anything until I understand what I am doing.

Windows 11; all updates are installed, Dell computer purchased in October, with AMD processor.

I get the error msg. "Firefox is already running. Would You like to exit Firefox? Yes or No"

I enter Yes and Firefox starts normally. This usually happens after a Firefox update or sometimes when I exit Firefox normally. I use Windows 10 if that makes a difference.

I wanted to refresh Firefox. When I downloaded the installer from the Mozilla website, I got this message: "Firefox is already running, but is not responding. The old Firefox process must be closed to open a new window." I finally downlaoded it from the App store and now I get this message "Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible."

I can't recollect doing anything lately that would have caused such a problem. I don't mess with the registry, and I don't use rogue programs. I do have a Surfshark VPN, which I disabled to download the latest version of Firefox.

I am running Windows 11 on a Dell PC, which is about 6 months old.

I didn't have any problems until reciently.

How can I fix this?
