I have been using Firefox since version 1. I really don't like the way Google is taking over the internet, but Firefox is just getting worse and worse every version for my windows client. I'm not looking for new features or added value as my reason to use Firefox, my main motivation is political, I just want something that isn't Chrome.

For me, unsigned add-ons being disallowed from version 44 is a bad idea, as I currently use a bunch of them to fix things which are broken in Firefox, and I won't be able to upgrade Firefox after that, so I'll eventually have to stop using it. I'm using open source software so I can customise, not how someone else allows me to customise it.

Oh, it's not all bad news, Fennec for android 5.1 is now more stable than the endlessly crashing mess it was, thanks.

Am using a signed download from the Fuirefox list. An hour later it is inactivated. Started this morning. The toolbar was missing when I sat down. I made no changes in the past month.

When I load certain pages, they continue refreshing constantly (about once a second), which drastically slows down the performance of Firefox.

I have already tried refreshing Firefox and using safe mode. Neither of these solves the problem.

iMac to MacBook Pro Syncs:

After a synch, target (MacBook Pro) launched in Default (instead of my selected theme) and settings could not be accessed by clicking on any of them). Also, no images would appear in any website. (FF Default all-grey browser is not usable for me because of poor eyesight and the need for more color and contrast in the mix).

Consultant troubleshot all my Extensions on both devices (tossing many extensions and most themes) then synced again. Still no images and prefs still unavailable by clicking on them.

I kept one seemingly safe theme and was able to have both devices stabilize their respective themes and regained access to settings.

We tried to sync once with an added test bookmark.

He got the theme to launch and the images to appear and then we synced .

Boom! Back to square one.

Finally he got both devices to work independently so we banned any syncing. Fine, except that I REQUIRE syncs.

1) Any solutions to the failure to synch the Profiles?

2) Any easy syncing strategies other than don't involve digging into the Library files and manually swapping folders around. It works but too much room for tired eyes at night.

Any decent after-market apps that will do just the Profile synch, both ways?

where is my problem coming from? outlook? firefox? microsoft? windows 10?

My Firefox has been crashing and not starting for several weeks. I've gone through several steps of the troubleshooting, including starting in safe mode (where it crashes & won't start), updating Firefox and several clean reinstalls, My laptop is about 8 years old, but has been running Firefox up until about a month ago. Just started happening a few days ago. Firefox had crashed itself (as it does from time to time) upon loading again it asked if I wanted to restore lost tabs, I said no so I could start fresh. Now when I try to click a bookmark, load up a page, type in a URL, Google something in the box it quickly confirms and stops right away (as if it is done) and all the tab says, still, is 'new tab' and nothing to show for it. As I am having to process this request through a different computer, I do not have details on my plug-ins at this time. I have recently updated to the newest Firefox edition. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the browser with no effect.

I seem to have a virus. Dont know what to use to remove it. I have had reimage-repair suggested. I have just installed AVG antivirus but this has not fixed the problem. And web searches using google get hijacked as well.

One desktop installation has a FF installation and uit shows-across the top--Google as the home page--the other does not..one shows Google as the home page, "compose Mil" to get gmail, and "getting started" with the FF icon.. The other does not. Can these installations be set to show the same information.

I got a prompt to update Firefox, so I updated. Now I can't see any of my bookmarks. Furthermore, the "open menu" icon doesn't do anything at all

I have read other questions similar to my own that say click the return to default button on the customize page. I have done this, and yet the new tab button is still not where I want it. Instead it goes to the far right, which makes no sense (in my opinion). I try to move the button so it is next to the most recently opened tab, but rather than going where I want it, it goes to the far left! This makes using Firefox extremely uncomfortable, as I keep closing tabs by accident! I generally have 6+ tabs open at all times and this makes it very inconvenient. If someone could help it would be appreciated.

I am not a computer geek but just a plug ands play user. I keep hearing stories about Java problems. Should I uninstall all Java programs and diregard the update pop ups that I keep getting. want to keep using Firefox and not get bugs from Java. What to do ??
