I am trying to move my mobile bookmarks from Firefox to Brave. I've synced them with no trouble from Firefox Android to desktop. I can see a folder in the Firefox bookmark manager called "mobile bookmarks", and it contains all my mobile bookmarks. From there, I can open them in Firefox, Brave, Edge, and Chrome. No problem.

When I click "Import and Backup", then "Export Bookmarks to HTML", I'm able to save the HTML file to whatever location I like - desktop, Downloads folder, etc. However, when I go to open the file, it only contains the Mozilla default bookmarks. None of the "Mobile bookmarks" folder is visible. The HTML file is only 11 kb.

FWIW, I've also tried directly importing the bookmarks to Brave using their import feature (not using an HTML file), and Brave does not recognize any bookmark files whatsoever from Firefox. Getting really frustrated.

It would appear that there was an update in the past 24hrs because my tabs appear different (rounder). However, now my bookmarks drop-down menu is all different and messed-up, and I can't delete the things added. Please see the screenshot enclosed...

I now have "Manage Bookmarks" at the top - which is fine. I have "Other Bookmarks" - which I thought I killed a LONG time ago. I have an ADDITIONAL "Manage Bookmarks" at the bottom - which seems redundant, and excessive.

I've done my homework, tried tinkering with old solutions. I cannot delete, move, rename, hide or change any of these. I would ideally like to remove everything except the 1st "Manage Bookmarks" at the top. That seems reasonable.

Hello there, today I reset my Mozilla Firefox account password and now I am unable to see my bookmarks, my account is not synchronizing from and also there is no backup data saved, How can I get my all settings back, please help

Recently FFox completely collapsed on me, no response to clicks anywhere. So I downloaded and reinstalled the program, only to find exactly the same happening.

So I decided on a completely clean install. Before I did that i installed Opera <ptooh> and imported my passwords and bookmarks from FFox.

Haven't as yet found a way of re-importing those items exported, but that's a worry for another day.

First problem is that even when I add Bookmarks using either Ctrl+D or the fancy start to the right of the address bar nothing gets added to Bookmarks.

Recent Bookmarks ?? Nothing

Manage Bookmarks ??? Not a thing.

Next problem is that despite being very active here there and everywhere on the web over the last few days since re-install - I HAVE NO HISTORY !!

Clicking on the three bars top right, and then on History >> Recent History gives me zilch. Nada. Nothing at all.

It took me days to eradicate almost every sign of Edge from this computer, but I'm starting to think that maybe I might like to try it, so please offer me some assistance with my FFox problems.

Hi, I just tried Firefox 90 portable inside sendbox. I went to bookmark manager and tried to import json or html file, it wont go, did not work. I tried with Senbox's Edge and it did import my bookmarks files.

What do you say?

My computer automatically updated to version 90.0 and all of my passwords were deleted. Also, it will not save any passwords that I try to save. Any idea how to fix this? Thanks

I am joining a Yahoo fantasy league. To support an on-line draft, the Yahoo website instructed me to download an extension (something I have done safely before with other sites). Well, instead of it being an extension, it turned out to be Google Chrome, which made itself my default browser. I uninstalled the Chrome but it did something to my Firefox app that I no longer have my bookmarks which are very important to me. What can I do to get my Firefox restored.

I'm a user who doesn't use tablets just a PC and my wife uses a small screen laptop.

As such, we would just like to have bookmarks that aren't padded by space when browsing our bookmarks.

Is there a technical reason why Firefox are enforcing spaced bookmarks like this, it is very,very annoying, and has anybody got a current fix for this as of version 91.0 ?

My problem is the same as many people. The spaces between the bookmarks, now far too large. It was perfect until yesterday when there was an update. Why do they do this, I had the solution but now in their infinite wisdom they have removed this solution. You cannot contact them directly, so all in all, I think that it is time to find another browser. I am just fed up with it.

hello mozilla people ~ so i used to be able to slide a URL right into a bookmark folder. but no more. can i change something in config to make that happen again? thanx. i love mozilla firefox & thunderbird...been using both for years & years!!!!! hope you're wearing a mask & got vaccinated. ~ roz in la.

Hello, after the latest Firefox update (before 8/31-2021) all my bookmarks were gone. I've tried every single suggestion from Mozilla and other sources and nothing will work. I've got an external hard drive that I backed up my Windows 7 to in June and cannot find it on there either. I've got a tremendous amount of information on those bookmarks really need some help! Thank you.

I have an issue with my Firefox browser randomly adding bookmarks to my bookmarks toolbar. I have my desktop browser synced with my laptop browser, both running windows 10. I am on version 92.0 (64-bit). I had my first issue the other night when I went on my desktop and opened Firefox and my bookmarks were gone. I knew what they were since I don't have many and manually added them back. Shortly after my toolbar was filled end to end with duplicate bookmarks. I immediately went to the Firefox menu -> bookmarks -> manage bookmarks and restored from an auto saved backup. I thought it would be a good idea to manually save a backup so I saved that to my local disk. Ever since then I have been having the same problem with the duplicate bookmarks and I have to keep restoring from a backup. The backup sometimes works for a few hours without bringing back the duplicates and sometimes just a few seconds. It doesn't always bring back the same amount of duplicates either. I have three extensions installed (adblock, icloud and expressVPN) and I have my toolbar set to only show on new tabs if that is of any relevancy. I have also refreshed Firefox to reset add-ons and settings and when that didn't work I uninstalled Firefox through the windows control panel and I'm still having trouble.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Under import/backup --> restore I can't remove the files. It used to let you do it now its not allowed. I want them gone and to synch with I currently have. It would also be nice to add a feature to edit backup folders and stored files.

About my bookmark separator. Previously, my bookmark separator was invisible. It was now visible, I believe I didn't make any changes with my settings. Is this an automatic update? If this is an update, how can I make the bookmarks invisible?

I still have no bookmarks. I have restarted the computer a number of times. I also renamed the places.sqlite adding a 1 after places as it said in other directions. I have also refreshed.

Yesterday, I uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled after receipt of your response. It said all cookies, history, bookmarks etc transferred successfully. However, I keep getting the message “ and Bookmarks and history systems will not be functional because one of Firefox’s file is in use by another application. Some security software can cause the problem. I use McAfee, I’ve always used it. I have not changed it.

I did not do anything with favicon file as I don’t know what to do, I understand you can delete that. If there is a list of more than one, then what do I do.

As I indicated, I an NOT a technical person.
