Every since I downloaded firefox again I cannot open another site from my e-mail. Why do this when it will just cause problems. What was wrong with the other opening page of firefox?

I have long used the option to have a separate address and search bar ("Add search bar in toolbar" in search settings). A few months ago, I changed that to "Use the address bar for search and navigation". The search bar is gone, but when I type a query into my combined address and search bar, I only get "We're having trouble finding this site".

Notes: -) My default search engine is DuckDuckGo, but it doesn't work either when I make Google my default search engine -) I can use the "this time search with..." buttons on bottom, but that's an extra step for every search -) My profile goes way back to the beginnings of Firefox. Any hidden settings that might not have been migrated properly in the past, and that I could check in the about:config?

A while ago (about three months), I moved my hard drive to a new PC with better parts. It has a better mother board, a better graphics card and twice the RAM. Anyway, since then Firefox hasn't worked the same. When i open Firefox, there will be random pieces of letters or words on a webpage just gone, making a lot of them impossible to browse because I can't read half of the the new Alien dialect on the screen. Some websites have been better than others, but its gotten to the point where some web pages (Like YouTube or Reddit for example.) will just be a mess of random de fragmented lime green blocks that completely corrupt the page and will shift, move and appear at random covering up text as I scroll down. Videos will play just fine, it's the rest of the site that's effed up. Also on YouTube videos, where the timer for the video is located, some of the numbers just won't show up. Like it will count down fine but won't display certain numbers in the timer. Funny thing is, is that this doesn't just affect the websites, but the browser itself. For example, hovering my mouse over different tabs will highlight them and show me the preview text of the tab. All that is good until I move over to a different tab and voila, the text is gone, and then suddenly all the other tabs are either blank or just missing random letters and numbers in the tab. This is only happening in Firefox btw. No other app on my PC is doing this. I've tried refreshing Firefox about six times now, I've uninstalled it three times in an attempt to fix the issue along with restarting my PC multiple times... All of that, and I find out yesterday that it works perfectly when in "Troubleshoot/Safe mode", and only when in Troubleshoot/Safe mode. I have no idea what is causing the issue... *PePeLaugh* 

 See, I would use another browser but I've been using Mozilla for 8-9 years and would like to avoid the hassle of moving everything to a new browser... I would VERY much appreciate any help at all.

 I'm running 64-bit windows 8.1 on the latest updates and my PC specs are roughly as follows below. I look forward to a response...

After I take a screenshot -- using the very handy FF command that now sits on my address bar -- a message box opens in the bottom right of the screen that says, Duh, "your shot was copied to the clipboard" and then gives instructions for pasting it. Although that seems to be fairly elemental information that is unnecessary, even if there is a good reason to keep it, must that message window always be in the same position? That is really a problem as it obscures one's ability to navigate on a page upon which he may be working. Look at the attachment. The FF window is covering the location where I want to put my cursor to work on that page that is in the background. In this case, I wanted to make sure the cursor was positioned in a different place for another screenshot I might put there (below the existing one).

Since I'm familiar with pasting or copying the screenshot and how to do that before this window opens, how can I remove for all screenshots, now and in the future, this window opening?

I had a similar problem last year when an auto update came through. After several suggestions didn't help I opted to reinstall a previous version and upgrade that. Now it's back again with the v94 update.

I've disabled ALL extensions. No help. Themes don't seem to make a difference. However, when I went to about:config and entered "toolkit.legacyUserProfileCustomizations.stylesheets" to make it true to allow chrome.css files to work it began immediately. Reset it to false and "X"s are back. Set config to TRUE and it screws up the "X"s. Again, all this is with all extensions off.

I hate the transparency of the tabs and menu bars so I need to set .css files. How else can I do it?

My firefox has been consuming lots of memory (and many CPU processes) for quite some time now.

I read that i can adjust the number of multiple content process, but somehow i am not seeing it inside about:preferences menu even after i checked 'Use hardware acceleration when available' option.

Do advise me on what should i do to improve my firefox speed?

Hello. Starting yesterday, Firefox has stopped playing audio from every website and even local files. Yes, I read this article and no, the sound is not being muted instead the sound just refuses to play. In the screenshot, it shows that the "play" "mute" and speed option are greyed out. Also, I tried using safe mode and audio still wouldn't play. What should I do?

Hey, All of the saved logins and passwords are gone while the bookmarks remain.

I noticed that logins and passwords disappeared after the computer turned off unexpectedly due to low battery and unstable power connection couple times in a few minute interval.

How do I get back logins and passwords?

After the last update the format of my Wells Fargo accounts page is screwed up. I tried microsoft and my phone and they are both ok so it has to be something with Firefox last update because it was ok yesterday.

I have ongoing Adblock Plus and Ghostery, but since the latest update to Firefox 95, I have seen a significant increase in the numbers of Ads on internet news sites (TheGatewayPundit.com, ZeroHedge.com, etc.). I've have also experienced for the first time, a request to sign up in order to continue to view something (Fox News; Political Cartoons). Is this a result of the Firefox update or have the advertisements managed to overcome Ad blocking software? Is there a fix that you can suggest? Thank you for taking the time to read and respond. firefox search results have changed when i query for "news"; everyday i search for news by simply entering the word news into the browser. The results always were preceded by a scroll able header that had a picture relevant to article and story and the underneath was a list of news sites ( like CBC, CNN, MSNBC, etc)... now when i type in my query ( the word "news") the results displayed still list all the news sites but the header with pictures and story has disappeared - can anyone help?

Hello I have seen the recent changes to the toolbar screenshot functionalities, the ":screenshot" developer console command, and the command line headless option.

Concerning latest Firefox 95 I wonder if it was possible to call any of these functionalities from an addOn (popup menu), providing parameters as in command line (fullpage, visible), and the folder. I am developing my first addon to customize firefox to my needs.

About 4 months ago I started having a problem of not being able to enter the online banking site. I have tried every time there was a software update, but no luck. I have tried every solution that I could fine, but still no luck.

After entering my login info and pressing enter the next page displays the following error messages. 404 Page not found and ssl_error_bad_mac_alert or ssl_error_no_cypher_overlap

This problem is occurring to many people. So I have had to use Edge to do my online banking only. Even then when I log out using Edge, I occasionally I get the following error ssl_error_bad_mac_alert As firefox is my preferred browser I sure would like this resolved.

I use Firefox for Facebook game called Family Farm. My neighbors will not load and a few other glitches. I know it is Firefox because I had to download Chrome and played on it. Chrome loads my neighbors on Facebook. Also for some reason Firefox is hogging my memory then crashing. It takes a while to crash but still should not be happening. I cleared cache and optimized and everything to maintenance my computer. Any help appreciated.

I'm using v56.0.2 as it was the last before Mozilla took away the extensions that I depend on. Up until recently, it's worked flawlessly on Facebook. Now, within the last week or so, I can no longer type in the comments box on someone else's post. The cursor is there and flashing but when I type, the cursor only flickers but no text. Other browsers don't have this issue so I'm confident that it's nothing to do with my FB profile. Typing in the search box or creating a new post works fine. I just can't type comments.

I have a 2015 Dell alien using Microsoft 8 and have been very happy with it. Recently my PC had a problem and went into a "self repair mode". This has happened before with excellent results. This time some things are missing. Most noticeably all my Firefox stored passwords. I really depend on that wonderful service you created as I am in my 70s and cannot keep all those passwords straight.

My question, after all that, is can my passwords be retrieved? Does Firefox use a cloud to retrieve passwords in case of something like this? Please save me hours of work and worry.

Firefox has been my go-to since I herd about it several years ago on NPR radio
